Scholarships: I got the financial aid that I needed and the process went mostly smooth. There were a couple of times where i was misinformed on the phone, but once i went to speak to a person, the problems were resolved.

Scholarships: Considering how much money USC has, many students at this school should be receiving much more aid than they are. They also claim to take into consideration outside circumstances like a family member's medical finance needs, but they did not do that for me which was very offensive. This year I also had issues with them even getting my financial scholarships due to missing documents that were sent in weeks ago but they were not effective at processing. In addition, when my parents and I would call, we got conflicting information from different people. I didn't get any real results until school started and I was able to go in and talk to someone face to face, which is scary for a student who is relying on financial aid to go to school since the date to pay for tuition is before school even starts. In all technicality, it should be an easy process, but I have definitely had some frustrations with the financial aid department that has been hard to deal with. It's also extremely frustrating to see friends who have worse financial situations than myself get their financial aid slashed the next year they are at school and seeing their families sell of houses and take out extra loans because even though nothing changed about their situation, USC decided that they could just up the amount of loans and money that the students owe.
