Majors: I visited several times before applying and they always told us that getting into USC is one of the most difficult things to do. I don't know how to describe being rejected because it never happened to me. Although the application (six writing samples) was strenuous, it was one of the most rewarding things I did my senior year of high school.

Off-Campus Dining: LA is known for its food, and for good reason. I work on the campus cooking show and we constantly explore LA cuisine.

Health & Safety: Walking off campus is one of the scarier experiences I've had.

Campus Food: They have good restaurant options, but if I ever go to EVK again it will be to protest the food there.

Administration: It's nice that they understand that we're students and we party. That's fine. But when it comes to sexual assault, it's pretty atrocious how lenient they are.

Local Area: Los Angeles is one of the coolest, most diverse cities I've ever been to. Unfortunately, I hate trying to get around in it almost as much as I love it.

Campus Quality: Trojan football has over taken my life. I can't wait to get back to campus and to my team. Ground Zero is one of my favorite places on campus. Doheny is beautiful. I love working for Trojan Vision. Some of the buildings are run down, though. The Lyon Center is... okay. It's fine. It's just lacking. And don't even get me STARTED on the hell hole that is Leavey. But those are minor in comparison to the perks that being an SC student offers.

Campus Quality: I came to USC for the School of Cinematic Arts. It's my version of the Ivy League. Because of it, I've gotten to have lunch--not just meet for five seconds--but have LUNCH with Academy Award winning directors. Directors with an "s." Not to mention the Trojan Family. If you meet a fellow Trojan, you've just made a lasting business connection.

Scholarships: The financial aid process is great and I received a large merit scholarship, but it's just that upper middle class burden of being too wealthy for extra aid but not wealthy enough to afford private school tuition.

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly fast food, but there are tons of options and they're all close by and open late.

Greek Life: Greek life is huge. For a girl, it isn't necessary to be in a sorority for the social scene, but guys kind of have to be in a frat to party. I didn't join a sorority freshman year, but I'm regretting that decision now because I've seen how great a sorority can be at creating friendships and connections.

Campus Housing: There are pros and cons to every building. Most resident buildings on campus are freshman buildings.

Local Area: The university is in the middle of the metropolitan community. So therefore there are many options are available

Health & Safety: The university offers security throughout the night and if there is an ongoing crime then the safety department notifies the students.

Off-Campus Housing: There arent many on campus housing available for many students. So the university owns off campus buildings in which many students live there.

Students from Southern California usually love USC from the beginning and strengthen their bonds with the school as time passes. Students who travel to USC from longer distances tend to adapt more slowly, dealing at first with the culture shock that inevitably comes with a first impression of LA. Universally, those who can survive the transition into the USC way of life fall in love with the school after first semester. Typically, students entering school with a skeptical mind-set ends up getting the most pride out of being a Trojan. At the very least, they come away with a new affinity toward college football.

The opportunities on campus are plentiful, and in LA, opportunities are endless. Time flies for everyone at USC, and changes in living conditions, academic standards, and career goals come quicker than newcomers might expect. USC graduates are sure to look back on a college experience that could not have been offered anywhere else. Basically, the more that students are willing to explore the opportunities available to them, the more they endorse the idea that USC is the perfect school for its time and place.
