Athletics: It is apparent that everyone loves the Football team, but USC also holds many renowned teams such as the Men's Water Polo team and the Tennis team.

Local Area: LA is a great city to live in! It's home to many attractions and cultural events that it is almost impossible to explore everything within four years!

Campus Housing: There are a variety of dorm options. Only a few have air conditioning. All are conveniently near classes. The maximum time you spend walking is 5-10 minutes.

Majors: It is very time consuming. Make sure this is what you want to do or else you will not enjoy it. Time management is key and patience.

Scholarships: It's difficult to get financial aid because they want to see all your parents' information, even if they are re-married.

Party Scene: It's great but it's definitely intense.

Off-Campus Dining: Fresh and Easy is across the way. There's tons of vegetarian options. Also, there's the Lab which is super fun with lots of good appetizers.

Party Scene: There are constant parties going on around the Greek street, especially on Thursdays and Sundays.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many nearby places to hangout and have dinner. But most of them are very costly and with very few options for vegetarians.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Most non-Greeks are indifferent about Greeks. They are treated like other students.

3 College Junior

Majors: I do plan to have an internship but the chances of getting one are rare.

4 College Junior

Majors: The committee considers the overall profile of the student. Most of the times they concentrate on academics more than GRE, TOEFL, etc. which is actually the good part. The admission process was smooth without any glitches and provides sufficient time to submit any important/missing documents.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The social atmosphere is too good but everything comes at the cost of dollars.

Health & Safety: The security service provided by the university is great. They even provide free pick-up and drop services to the students from 6pm till 3am in the morning.

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is available in plenty, both very near to off-campus and little far away also. The far away housing also provide free bus services till the university and back. But somewhat expensive too, whether near or far.

3 College Junior

Administration: Anyone can enter the campus till 9pm at night which can be a very serious issue and at times gives a feeling of insecurity. After 9pm, you need your college ID to enter the campus. The security service provided by the university is pretty good, especially the campus cruiser service after 6pm till 3am in the morning

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Students from Southern California usually love USC from the beginning and strengthen their bonds with the school as time passes. Students who travel to USC from longer distances tend to adapt more slowly, dealing at first with the culture shock that inevitably comes with a first impression of LA. Universally, those who can survive the transition into the USC way of life fall in love with the school after first semester. Typically, students entering school with a skeptical mind-set ends up getting the most pride out of being a Trojan. At the very least, they come away with a new affinity toward college football.

The opportunities on campus are plentiful, and in LA, opportunities are endless. Time flies for everyone at USC, and changes in living conditions, academic standards, and career goals come quicker than newcomers might expect. USC graduates are sure to look back on a college experience that could not have been offered anywhere else. Basically, the more that students are willing to explore the opportunities available to them, the more they endorse the idea that USC is the perfect school for its time and place.
