Overall Experience: My university is the best because it helped me find my passion. They showed me the joy of figuring out problems. They also showed me the capability I had to do so.

Health & Safety: Pretty safe, despite the area.

Overall Experience: It was a bit of a trial to get in, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Campus Housing: I live off Campus, but from what I have heard campus housing is alright.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: Not really into the Greek thing, so I wouldn't really know.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Football is really big around here.

Overall Experience: I will attend my university in the fall but I have high expectations in the professors and the alumni. I like the fact that it is close to home and it has the best international business and school of heatlh.

Overall Experience: I wouldn't want to be anywhere but USC

Overall Experience: The Arnold school of public health is world renown and will seriously help me as I pursue grad school, medical school, and then get a job.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: We have our own police force and their are lots of cameras around campus. Campus is well lit at night and despite a difficult neighborhood just past five points the overall campus stays very safe in my opinion.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: I have lots of friends who LOVE their greek life and although I am not greek I am treated with respect by them

5 College Junior

Athletics: Sandstorm, tailgating, cocky, SEC, it is world class

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am from the midwest and being dropped in the deep south to study for my undergrad was quite a shift. However, the friendly staff, energetic and passionate students, and world class campus quickly had me feeling at home. USC has been a blessing to my educational journey and there is no place I would rather attend. Go Game Cocks!!!

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Many places to contact the police

5 College Freshman

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I don't ever want to leave USC but when I do, I am confident I will get a job I love.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Walk Home Cocky is a program that I am a part of where a group of students in this program sign up to volunteer as often as they wish. Those who volunteer stay in the library until 3 am. If any other students in the library don't feel comfortable walking back to their dorm or car, two members of Walk Home Cocky will walk them there so everyone feels safe and protected.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Not the best value, but one of the nicest dorms on campus. It was very nice being so close to classes.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I love my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. I have found my best friends and future bridesmaids here. It makes it all worth it to see our hard work for our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, pay off and help those in need.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

If there is one word to describe the experiences you will have at USC, it would have to be "unforgettable." Being away from home for the first time at USC is both exciting and scary at times, but the freedom you get when you come here feels natural. It makes you wonder why they don’t send people to college sooner! Academically, there are courses and professors who can make you look at things in ways you never considered before. Facts and figures will be thrown at you, but some of the professors (and your peers) can teach you a lot about life as well. It’s also a very cool thing to see laid-back professors who will sometimes move their classes out onto the Horseshoe lawn.

On top of this, with such a large student population, you will inevitably form new relationships that will last a lifetime. As at any college, the quality of the experience depends on what you put into it. There are thousands of new people to meet, tons of activities going on, and things to learn both in and out of class. Those who don’t take advantage of these opportunities will not get a lot out of their experience here. Some students get tired of being at USC after a while, and some hate it from the start for whatever reason. USC is not the place for everyone, but overall, students seem to be thoroughly enamored with Carolina and wouldn’t trade their title of Gamecocks for anything in the world. There seems to be an aura of its own inherent to the University, and its welcoming vibe is infectious.
