4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I'm not involved in any fraternities but people seem to enjoy it a lot.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: I am highly involved with the football program as a member of the Jaguar Marching Band and I love supporting our players. Game days are the most exciting events I've witnessed so far in college. The students always make a large showing and are incredibly enthusiastic about supporting our team. Our team, while not the best, is improving every year- especially for such a young program! Our marching band, even though I'm a bit biased, is one of the best in the region

Overall Experience: South Alabama to me, most of all, is home. I love being a standing member of the Jaguar Marching Band and I am very proud of my school. I have met the most amazing friends and colleagues one could hope for and I am very excited to continue my education at the University of South Alabama. Go Jags!

Greek Life: I am not sure how Greek life is at South.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: South's football program is fairly new, so the support isn't up there like a big SEC school. But, for our size we have an awesome support system!

Overall Experience: The meteorology department at South is amazing. It's a small department so we each get one-on-one time with professors.

Athletics: There are not to many place one can go where athletics are not the cream of the crop. Of course, the people that play sports receive special favors, but for those that did not make the team they play on the intramural fields. There are also students that do not avidly play sports, but they play intramural games.

Overall Experience: South Alabama is a wonderful school. It is not so massive that your car is in one location and you dorm is in another. The most enjoyable aspect is the locations of the buildings. All classes are within a 15 minute walk. Tutoring and sporting events are always free and at most campuses the students have to pay a small portion.

Health & Safety: We hear about an incident on campus every few months or so. Nothing is ever too serious, but just enough to not make me want to walk to my car at night alone.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am biased because my program is designed to include a year-long internship, with a high likelihood of employment immediately following graduation.

3 College Junior

Athletics: USA has a strong history in basketball and baseball, and the current interest in football here is growing. I have not attended any sporting events, so I cannot really speak to the amount of fan support or school spirit. The rec center for non-athlete students is VERY nice.

Overall Experience: Considering I chose USA because there is only one other program in my field in the state, it is difficult to say whether or not i would CHOOSE it again. The large commuter population and interesting fields of study make it somewhat unique.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I do not believe crime and sexual assault are a problem on campus. By problem I mean recurring and frequent. Students who disagree are sheltered from crime and sexual assault off campus and allow isolated incidents to form their opinions of safety as a whole.

Overall Experience: So far I have had a great experience obtaining research and internships geared toward my career path. I have not used Career Services, but it is there when I want to take advantage of it.
