College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: All freshmen are required to live on campus so I have not experienced it yet.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Its cool if you like the food around, if not, though luck.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't go to parties so this doesn't pertain to me.

1 College Freshman

Administration: Public safety is a joke. I went to them when I didn't feel safe with another student sexually assaulting me and they told me to suck it up. They get off on trying to break up house parties of 20 somethings who don't even go to UP and neglect their own students.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: They give you a lot of money, but there is still a high out of pocket cost.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: its better than state schools, but its still made in mass quantities and doesn't taste like home.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The female dorms are very cliquey and the hall staff doesn't try to include residents outside of their clique in hall events. There is a big problem with not having enough rooms for returning sophomores and resident life won't help them find near by apartments.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's a bit pricey, and students often don't use up all their points at the end of the semester.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Starting to get overcrowded, because more students are joining each year.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: can be far but lots of choices

5 College Freshman

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: merit scholarship covered half of the tuition

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: not much variety at all, wish for food carts

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: good variety of housing options, most clean

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Cool houses close to campus but it can be expensive.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Many different kinds of delicious food!

4 College Freshman

Administration: They don't care at all about alcohol but they freak out about weed, when soon they will both have the same legalization.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Not always parties and they are small, but it is still fun because usually you know someone there.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They gave me a large amount of scholarship money, without it I would have not been able to attend school here.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: Very healthy options and many gluten free options, although gets repetitive by the end of the year.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My dorm is old but still in good condition with a good community, even though the elevator breaks sometimes.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The academics here are great. If you decide to change majors while here you will still be in a good program with good resources. If planning on going in undeclared have an idea of what you want to do there aren't as many resources for deciding on a major versus changing major. Most of the students here work hard during the week and then relax on the weekends. Midterms and finals can be very stressful do to many large projects being due within the same week. This school is academically challenging but as long as you put in the effort you should do well.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The library is great but just not big enough for the amount of students who like to study there. Sometimes you will have to walk around a bit to find a spot. There are also a mix of older and newer buildings around campus. Although many of the buildings have been recently updated they could use more outlets in class rooms and other locations to keep up with the amount of technology students use. I would recommend making sure your laptop has at least a five hour battery life and getting a portable charger for other devices.
