No Diploma Mill Going on Here! I want to first point out I am an online student. I did not see an Arizona location in the drop box, so I simply choose a Phoenix location.
I received my GED in 2002 at the age of 31. I never attended a class; I simply took the GED test and passed with the minimum requirements. At the age of 40 I enrolled in college with basically an 8th grade education. So naturally I was skeptical on my capabilities. However, the counselors, advisors, and instructors have made being an online adult student well worth the "taking a shot at it." At first I was embarrassed to say I was an online student because I heard people making jokes of online degrees. Let me tell you, this is no joke. Students have to earn the degrees online the same as if he or she were in a classroom; period. I have a friend who attends a local community college (on campus) and he once told me "I like your school because I think you are receiving a better education for the degree you are going for then me". You see, thanks to online colleges such as University of Phoenix, I can proudly say I have earned every passing grade, and I can proudly say something I have never said or saw myself as "I am an educated lady". I am Phoenix.

Inspiring Goals! I'm a Business and social services major which is something I had never heard of before speaking to my outstanding adviser. As she laid out the classes to complete my degree, which she suggested to me from a four hour session in getting to know me, I saw overwhelming excitement of a future on paper. She also told me about the hands on opportunities such as sitting in at rehab center sessions that i would constantly be able to do, so I not only had the knowledge but experience when I graduated. Such an amazing program!

Registration Is a Breeze! At University of Phoenix, the staff is genuine and helpful. Class registration was simple, and they were on the phone with me through the entire process. They even call periodically to check on my and make sure my classes are going well, and ask if I have any questions or concerns they can help with. I truly feel like I was set up to succeed and there is no greater feeling than knowing someone is on your side!
