Campus Food

4 College Junior

Campus Food: Pretty great food all around

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Campus dining had many pitfalls, but the Caf made up for it.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is pretty good, but I would prefer a few more less greasy choices!

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: i love the campus food, there just isnt much variety and you cant really eat healthy with the options. it would help if the stores in the union took exchanges all the time, not only crossroads. it would also help if xceterra took exchanges and not just points

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The most annoying thing is the fact that you can't get exchanges until after 2 p.m. at certain places in the union. This affects people differently depending on your major and class times. When you have early classes, like 8:30 am, youre most likely going to be done with your day by 2. Unless you want to eat crossroads every day-which is usually the only option, it sucks and i end up either using up all my points at the market place or starbucks. Even if I do decide on crossroads, it takes an hour around lunch time to even get your food. I usually only have an hour before my next class so sometimes I don't eat until the end of the day. The meal plan is too expensive to have so many shortcomings.

One of the most popular places on campus is the Caf (Couch Restaurants), which functions as the main cafeteria on campus for freshmen. A quick tip: If you want to make friends with upperclassmen, offer to take them to dinner at the Caf. The only students who adamantly dislike the Caf are those who prefer to cook their own meals. But among college students, such dedicated cooks are relatively few and far between, solidifying the universal love for the Caf. Featuring a sampling of every popular American fast food and the “homestyle” line, the Caf should have something for everyone, including the organic eater. Campus dining is designed to work with the freshman meal plans, and the entire semester’s plan is prepaid. Students can use meals or points (the two forms of money on the meal plan) at every campus food place. The actual cost of meals and food items is normally altered to cost exactly $7, the value of a single meal exchange. Another tip about campus dining: Xcetera, the grocery store in Walker Tower, is extremely overpriced—some items are marked up 100 percent.
