College Junior

Guys & Girls: Many of the students on campus are married and typically early twenties and older.

College Junior

Party Scene: There are a few fun holiday-related parties off-campus, but I have yet to attend!

5 College Junior

Academics: I really enjoy the dental hygiene program at OUHSC. The faculty is caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and offer their help in any way necessary to help students succeed. The curriculum and workload is intense (at times), but nothing impossible. Attendance and effort is required in order to succeed.

5 College Junior

Academics: Professors are knowledgable and helpful in assisting students in their success. The strict schedule/ syllabi are laid out in the beginning of the course, which the professors take seriously.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Facilities are adequate and easy to access even though campus is spread out. This campus is not like normal campuses! This is a campus is comprised of programs for future healthcare professionals as well as related facilities, i.e. hospitals, specialists, etc. The student organizations on campus are very active in getting students involved and hosting student mingling events.

College Junior

Majors: I have not had an internship nor do I plan on getting one. I have a part-time job (in between school breaks) and plan on staying there and likely will return there once my degree is completed.

College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel relatively safe on campus, but the insecurity is due to our campus location not the students on campus. We do have non-students frequent our campus often (patients), but I have never viewed them as a threat or problem. Campus police are usually within close proximity to the campus, so I feel safe in that regard.

College Junior

Greek Life: We do not have a Greek life on our campus.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are numerous places to eat, although not many of them are catered to students (as far as discounts). OKC is a large, growing city with many things to do. There are many pub/bar restaurants often with live music, like McNellie's, Blue Door, Edna's, and Speakeasy are cool bars and/or restaurants. Fine dining in Bricktown, like Red Prime and Mickey Mantle's are great places to go if you have expensive taste!

4 College Junior

Local Area: There are plenty of outdoor events, concerts, basketball/baseball games (OKC Thunder), plenty of up and coming places to eat, hang out, and enjoy night life. Shopping and entertainment is currently (and always) increasing and improving. I live in a large city, but many people are attending a school of some type.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Financial aid went smoothly, never had any problems with the school receiving my loan information from FAFSA. However, getting financial aid from FAFSA was difficult. I did receive a small scholarship from my school, which was applied to my account with no problem.

Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: There haven't really been any parties, but I'm not a social butterfly.

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Everything except electricity is bundled into rent. The apartment manager is a very approachable and friendly guy who's quite willing to answer questions. The major colleges are within a ten minute walking distance, but there's also a shuttle that runs every ten minutes. It's a bit on the pricier side at nearly $600 for a studio and $900 (split with a roommate) for a townhouse. However, given that everything about the complex is gated, I feel it's worth the cost.

The internet is also unbelievably fast.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Everything is pretty streamlined. If you get any sort of grants, tuition waivers, or scholarships through the college, they automatically accept them for you. The only thing you need to do is apply for loans.

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: There's a lot of team spirit and the faculty are very proud of the school. It's pretty common to see student wearing college clothing.

Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: I technically live on campus in the campus apartments, but they're treated as apartments rather than dorms.

5 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: There's emergency phones all over campus and I'm always seeing campus police on patrol. The on campus apartments are all equipped with security alarms that route directly to the campus police department.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: I've always had quick service, and the place that sells coffee is open early which is a bonus for early morning classes.

4 Recent Alumnus

Local Area: There's always something going on. Since I've been here, there's been a concert every weekend.

Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Greek life is seen as extracurricular and most of the focus is on class work.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Some people are involved in intramurals, but it's not too noticed.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received some last year, but a small amount compared to my loans and I haven't received any this year yet.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: There is no campus housing that I know of. It needs it.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone is professional at school and normal during off hours.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: smaller campus, so less crime. I feel pretty safe here!
