5 College Junior

Campus Quality: I came to this school without ever visiting and not coming from a Notre Dame family and I could not be happier. There is a true sense of community especially with the way dorm life is set up. Professors and classes are great.

Campus Quality: Football and all the fun traditions make this school truly a unique place.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are enough places to keep it interesting but a lot of people eat in the dining halls.

4 College Junior

Administration: The administration tends to be pretty fair as long as people are being safe. They accept that underage drinking will occur however drug use is not tolerated at all.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Which dorm you live in is literally luck of the draw. You could live in hotel like dorms or older dorms with no A/C. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The older ones tend to be smaller thus having a better sense of community and tradition.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Most people live on campus 3 of the 4 years at school.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I have had to make many trips back and forth to the financial aid office.

Health & Safety: We are always informed of crime statistics and provided with safety precautions to go by. The administration takes this sort of thing very, very seriously

4 College Junior

Academics: Psychology and Spanish. There are many professors offering research opportunities for their students. The study abroad program is great and there are many travel opportunities.

Academics: The classes are very interesting and I have had the privilege of learning from some amazing professors.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: We get an email every time there is "forced fondling"on campus, which usually happens after a night of partying. It happens often, but faculty and staff deals very well with it.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: They have a bunch of options and variety, and I believe the area is growing

3 College Senior

Diversity: I guess most of my friends all have the same opinions, so I have never felt isolated in my beliefs, but I've head that Notre Dame is relatively intolerant.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: They do a good job with the housing on-campus. All the dorms are located nearby to class buildings as well, so that makes it easy getting to class.

3 College Senior

Administration: It's often super strict, and that can hinder the fun.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love the school. At first it was hard to be so far away from home, but I have met some of the most genuinely great people here. My favorite experience is either football games or traveling abroad

Guys & Girls: The boys are pretty attractive up here, however often it gets so that people dress pretty grossly.

Local Area: South Bend isn't the best city to live in, however, for being so small, it has some nice restaurants and shops. I believe it is on the rise though.

Majors: There are 4 different colleges at Notre Dame and it is very easy to apply and get into your major with the help from your advisor.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

"Wonderful," "amazing," "special," "family"-these are the most common words that students use to describe their times at Notre Dame. The University has a unique atmosphere that is embraced by many; the campus is basically self-contained, the dorms are all very close-knit, and there are truly strong connections between students. While the weather may test your survival skills and the administration may try your patience, the Notre Dame experience is unlike any other you'll ever have. The school's tradition and history create an environment where you'll feel welcomed the moment you step foot on campus.

Notre Dame is not an easy school, and it's important to remember that academics are huge. Above all else, you need to be willing to study and focus, or you're not going to make it through the University's workload. Students here are universally dedicated to their studies, and campus life reflects it. This is not a party school. Students may find themselves frustrated by the value system or the lack of outside activities. The best recommendation for Notre Dame is to visit and check out campus life firsthand. Often, the atmosphere alone is enough to sway your feelings one way or the other.
