Party Scene: I mean it's the best as in there is none. Yes, it is about a fifteen minute drive from many other colleges and areas in the city with a wild party scene, but there is virtually wild night life at Northwestern.

Party Scene: Same as my last answer, no party scene around. Very dry campus. Strict visiting hours.

Academics: The professors I have met at this school are very personable and want you to succeed. Their curriculum covers exactly what it should, and though they have a tough workload, I also feel like I am getting a lot from the classes.

Diversity: This is a private Christian college in the midwest. There is some ethnic diversity, but everyone one campus identifies as Christian and no one is openly gay.

Health & Safety: Anyone can access campus, we just have a little entrance gate and one security guard to let people in. its super easy to access campus through bike and walking.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I think the classes here are good, but I think some of the Professors in-class activities are not fun. The class sizes are good. I like in person classes, when It comes to a big lecture class and the teacher doesn't have a PowerPoint slide or any notes displayed, it makes note taking very hard.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: the career center does a good job on campus trying to get people to do internships for companies.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There is a lot of space and we can actually walk around in our room. We have a bathroom, a walk in closet, and a kitchen with a mini fridge.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: We don't really have a Greek life/society here on campus, so I can't really say anything about it.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: the school spirit is super huge here. Especially at football games. There are so many people at the games that it fills up super quickly. There is a lot of fan supports too.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The school is alright, but the Christian atmosphere is just not for me. The people are super friendly and the Professors are great, but again I just don't see myself being here for the next three years.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Great professors who did an incredible job at teaching, and effectively grading. The class sizes were great and the teachers taught accordingly very well.

Health & Safety: Security on the campus was a pretty big deal. We often discussed it with the RA and they were in the process of implementing new safety measures when I was attending school.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms were pretty good. A bit small and a little older but that is OK. There was plenty of student study space and I loved being a little away from the campus but within walking distance.

Overall Experience: I really appreciated the how student and Christ focused the staff and all the professors were. There was not a single professor who was lax with his position. They took their work seriously, used class time extremely efficiently and cared about me as an individual. I loved how Christ centered the school was. Even during Symphonic Wind rehearsal we would take time to stop and pray for each other. Truly a school with top quality education while maintaining Christian values and focus in the education.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: Courses are challenging, but only as much as they should be. In most classes I've taken so far, the course is true to the syllabus. Professors are very helpful.

Overall Experience: I'm only taking online classes right now, but I'm pretty sure my on campus experience will be even better.

1 College Senior

Party Scene: There is literally no party scene whatsoever. UNW: Named "tamest party school in America". If you want a party, bar, or club scene, the University of MN campus is a 10 minute drive away.

1 College Senior

Party Scene: There is no party scene at Northwestern. Unless you count grocery bingo, movie nights, and choir concerts as party life.

5 College Senior

Diversity: UNW has international students attending from all around the world, so there is a lot of diversity in race and ethnicity. I'm not sure about economic background, but the tuition is $40,000/yr so I'm sure most of the students are pretty well-off. Most of the students on campus hold a Christian worldview, so their political beliefs tend to fall in line with that (which is usually conservative/Republican). To go to Northwestern you must be a born-again Christian; you must share your testimony as part of the application process. It will be very hard to go to this school if you are not a Christian--the education and social life are all Christ-centered (some people lie on their application...). When it comes to sexual orientation, {most} Christians respect those of the LGBT community and will still be their friend, but you won't find any students at UNW of the LGBT community because in the Christian faith, homosexuality is considered a sin. Christian students who struggle with homosexual desires are not condemned but instead counseled, supported, and prayed for by fellow students who are going through struggles of their own. Students at UNW are encouraged to do the same for their non-Christian, LGBT friends outside of UNW.

Drug Safety: There is literally no one on campus who drinks (under age), smokes, or does drugs while they're on campus. There are a small handful I'm sure who do so off-campus. The drug scene is nonexistent.

Health & Safety: Due to its strong, Christian environment, any types of crime or assault are RARELY heard of on this campus. A lot of students don't even bother locking their dorm or car doors because they feel that secure (me being one of them). A few thefts have occurred here and there, but it is usually found out that it was someone who wasn't a student here. Public safety is available around the clock and are a great resource. I would even go to say that they can be too strict on things such as parking violations (parking is horrible...cut us a break!) and not allowing commuter ID's to access dorm buildings (which also have classrooms...we have to sign-in at the front desk). This is the type of place where you can literally walk around campus alone in the middle of the night and feel perfectly safe.

Overall Experience: My only complaint about courses at UNW are that, due to small class size, each class is only offered once a year at one specific time with one professor. There isn't much flexibility especially once you get into junior and senior level classes within your major. This makes it hard for students who need to work their schedule around work, attending another school, or graduating on time (if they have to wait until next semester to take 1 class). Other than that, the professors due a great job of helping you learn material in a way that makes it stick so that you can apply it to your future career. The professors care a lot about their students, even inviting them to their houses for bonfires or dinner. Once you get to be a senior, your class sizes are around 10-20, depending on your major. Freshman level gen-eds are around 30+ people, and if you're in a carousel (lecture hall), then 80-100 students.

Overall Experience: I haven't had much personal experience in this area on campus, but I do know that Northwestern frequently has employers on campus recruiting and that there is a strong alumni network. UNW often hires alumni to work at the school after they've graduated, as well. I am not required to do an internship for my major, but I know a few students who have had no trouble finding great, paid internships--some that lead to full-time positions. The Center for Calling and Career is a great resource for students--they help you practice interviewing, will look over your resume, and help you find internship and job opportunities before and after graduation.

Campus Housing: The dorms are very spacious and include a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a walk-in closet. Typically there are three people to a room. There are other buildings for housing that are off the main part of campus but still walking distance away. Compared to many other dorms, UNW's are spacious and clean. Especially as a freshman or sophomore, I would recommend living in Knutson/Hartill/KnuHa. Akenson is also an excellent newer housing building we have (used to be a hotel). Ramseyer and Pitman work great for juniors and seniors. There is hardly a social atmosphere at Northwestern, but the few events that are held usually take place in the student center (called the "stud") which is located in the main dorm building on campus.

As a whole, Northwestern is loved by its students. The faculty, programs, students, staff, community, and environment create an atmosphere of love, comfort, and respect. A high level of satisfaction exists because most students chose the College for the high level of Christian education that Northwestern offers.

Northwestern is a place where professors and faculty do not shut down when they go home at night. Professors make themselves available to help and support students all the time, many of them even giving out their home numbers to students in case they should ever need to talk. Nearly all students that attend Northwestern have a deep passion for their faith and are on fire for the Lord. Students and faculty have such welcoming and sincere personalities, which makes it easy to get to know people. Friendships created at NWC are something cherished by everyone. There's not a place on campus where you won't receive a smile or salutation. The light created by the Lord is apparent on this campus and in its students.
