Overall Experience: I had actually never been to any educational institution this large, although it is only about 2,000 students. I was overwhelmed and trouble finding a place, but I did get to know some professors who really cared about me and were willing to listen to my struggles of transition.

Overall Experience: I love my school so much, and look forward to going back most of the summer. The professors are great and so helpful, and the people there are wonderful. The food is a bit expensive and sometimes weekends are dull, but my friends and I always find stuff to do.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love Northwestern. It's a great school. It has teachers that truly care about the students and that have a lot of real world experience. The teachers want to be there, as a lot of them could be doing other things with their careers. The teachers at Northwestern were a major selling point for me, as I feel like I'm getting a fantastic education.

Overall Experience: I would definitely choose my school again. It is a wonderful school which aligns with my religious beliefs and fosters my comprehension of my faith. Academically the school challenges me and the professes are greatly involved in the students academic and personal lives.

Athletics: I was a cheerleader for football and basketball last year, and UNWSP has one of the best student sections I've ever seen.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: UNWSP does not allow students to live off campus until they are 21, unless they live with a parent. I live with my parent.

Party Scene: Usually the party scene in college involves alcohol. There is no alcohol allowed on campus, whether you are legal or not. So if there are parties, they are planned with friends in a dorm. I was fortunate to have a great deal of friends in moyer so I would call moyer the party dorm because we did have a couple awesome parties there.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are many different options to chose from off-campus. Rosedale mall is a short 5 minute drive from campus. There are a few strip malls around campus

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The only thing that I do not agree with is the visitation in the dorms. Being a commuter, it was hard to bond with people of opposite genders because I was never around when there were visitation hours.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Commuters have to be very careful about how they spend their money. Commuters only get $315 per semester for food. I chose to bring my own lunch, usually never stayed for dinner, and only usually bought snacks and coffee.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received the Minority grant from UNWSP which covered 75% of the cost of attendance. I got two other scholarships and one other grant.

Campus Housing: I am a sophomore at University of Northwestern St. Paul. I am a commuter student who lives with her mom. The atmosphere and community at UNWSP is something I've never experienced before attending college. People are welcoming, friendly, warm, and really care about one another.

Off-Campus Housing: You are not allowed to live off campus until you're at least 21 years old, so most people live on campus for most of their years here.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: If you're comparing a prevalence of parties between Northwestern and any public school (and/or most other private schools in the nation), Northwestern's party scene is pitiful. But we do still have some parties going on, and the ones we do have are fun.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: We're about a 15 minute drive from either downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul, and these cities provide more than enough meal variety if you can't find it within a 5-10 minute drive from campus.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: You just need to know what you're signing on for when you come to Northwestern. The campus is dry and drug free, and we do have visitation hours. The vis. hours are reasonable, though, and they've increased the time over the years. Northwestern holds each student to a high standard of law obedience, honesty, integrity, and Christian morals. They are stricter than some, and less strict than others, but overall, the administration is very positive and makes for an encouraging community!

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They want to help. Northwestern has a decent amount of scholarships and aid to offer, and they worked with me well for the most part.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There is a variety of food here, so I rarely can get "sick" of anything. Because the food is all a la carte, I can monitor my spending well, but individually the prices seem a bit expensive for most of the food items. If on the freshman or sophomore meal plan, though, you can usually get by just fine without having to add extra funds.

Campus Housing: The campus at the University of Northwestern is absolutely lovely. The grounds and buildings are well kept and sightly and have a peaceful character to them, and the all the dorms provide quite enough space for comfortable living. The campus itself is easy to navigate, and the main buildings have underground tunnels connecting them that come in handy during the cold winter months! Northwestern has a strong atmosphere of Christian fellowship, and there is usually an event or two to attend from week to week. However, the weekends are often quite a bit quieter than the week days due to many students leaving campus.

Guys & Girls: Yoga pants are becoming more dominant on campus which is nice when walking to class.

Party Scene: Frat Row is pretty awesome. It is also known as Stanbridge. There are two pretty huge party houses there, the EH and BM. If you've been to one of their parties you know what I am talking about. If you haven't then you were probably home schooled and there is a reason you weren't invited. Way better party school than Bethel and on a good weekend it rivals the U and St. Thomas.

Off-Campus Housing: All students are required to live in campus housing unless 21, married, or living with parents. Getting an exception to this is rare, so for the vast majority of students living off-campus is not an option.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of options and lots of variety within 10 minutes any direction.

Party Scene: Not a party school. Fact. Moyer is the "party dorm" if you will, but that basically means people playing music loudly in their room or hanging in the hallway when the power goes out. Bonfires on the island are common.

Administration: Everyone on campus signs the DOCC - Declaration of Christian Community. As a result, there are high standards for behavior. However, this is not enforced an overly legalistic authoritarian fashion.

As a whole, Northwestern is loved by its students. The faculty, programs, students, staff, community, and environment create an atmosphere of love, comfort, and respect. A high level of satisfaction exists because most students chose the College for the high level of Christian education that Northwestern offers.

Northwestern is a place where professors and faculty do not shut down when they go home at night. Professors make themselves available to help and support students all the time, many of them even giving out their home numbers to students in case they should ever need to talk. Nearly all students that attend Northwestern have a deep passion for their faith and are on fire for the Lord. Students and faculty have such welcoming and sincere personalities, which makes it easy to get to know people. Friendships created at NWC are something cherished by everyone. There's not a place on campus where you won't receive a smile or salutation. The light created by the Lord is apparent on this campus and in its students.
