College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I do not live off campus and therefore can not review the off-campus housing

College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I have not been to any off-campus dinings around school yet since being at northwestern. Since I am a freshman, I do not have a car and do not have the ability to go any place.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The school is very strict. Due to it being a Christian university, it can affect student's social lives. There is no drinking or drug use at all while being enrolled at the school. Even if a student is over 21, if a student gets caught drinking then they are suspended. There are also strict visitation hours. There are no visitation hours Mon and Wed, and some the rest of the days of the week but only for 6 hours or so.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: There aren't many parties at school. There are some random ones, but not a very good turn out to them because there is a lot of people just standing around. The bigger "party" that happens during the year is the multicultural festival

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid process didn't go too bad. My dad helped me with most of it. I got a good amount of scholarships, but I wish they would offer more independent scholarships.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food in the Billy is really good and the food is fresher. They have a good variety of food and you can pick and choose from each of the different stations. Their mashed potatoes and green beans are my favorite food by far. The only downside to the food is the nest food. I got sick from the chicken tenders. They overcook the chicken and they don't have a variety of food there.

Campus Housing: The dorms are great! Each one has its own bathroom and shower, closet, kitchenette, vanity sink, and an air conditioner and heater. I find them spacious and homey. I love that it has its own bathroom and shower because most other schools have a common bathroom/shower area. The dorm rooms are very open and bigger than most other dorms at different schools

Greek Life: We do not have Greek Life at Northwestern

Athletics: All athletics are amazing here. Lots of school spirit! Our mens basketball team just made it to the D3 Sweet Sixteen which was awesome!!

Off-Campus Housing: First, the school prefers if you choose to dorm (especially if you are under 21) and so I am not familiar with the options surrounding the school. I would believe there is a wide variety of options due to being in the city and nearby other colleges, but again, I am not to sure.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: We're in the city! There's plenty of options and you are bound to find a new place every week or so. You might find one with a good price range you'll stick with and bring friends along! Very convenient and not far from campus.

4 College Freshman

Administration: For a Christian college, the strictness is really up to par with it's beliefs and values, which in my opinion, is great and really good at keeping the community together, however, there are a few debatable things.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial Aid was a BIG deciding factor. I received few help from the school itself and everything I did, I had to take initiative for. No one informed me of anything whether there was a form I needed to fill out or how much the cost was before and after. If you look for the help, you will receive, but don't expect much financial help from the school itself.

College Freshman

Party Scene: UNW doesn't endorse any sort of partying of any kind, so it is rather very rare. Parties usually are just small gatherings between friends and cliches.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Super costly, and meal plans are horribly planned out with Seniors having the least funds to begin and not enough to last even a week. Food is edible, and sometimes there are great stuff, but overall, you will do better eating out somewhere.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Very spacious dorms, few hall events, but costly.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I believe there are a lot of cheaper options.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Minneapolis has so many options.

3 College Junior

Administration: They can be too strict. Won't let us be adults.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: I have had no trouble with aid, they've helped me a lot.

1 College Junior

Party Scene: This is not a party school, which is why I chose it.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: We have so many options for good food, but it costs

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: We have many options for dorms and great amenities.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Brand new extensive athletics facility.

College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't lived off campus yet.

Students Often Come From

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

As a whole, Northwestern is loved by its students. The faculty, programs, students, staff, community, and environment create an atmosphere of love, comfort, and respect. A high level of satisfaction exists because most students chose the College for the high level of Christian education that Northwestern offers.

Northwestern is a place where professors and faculty do not shut down when they go home at night. Professors make themselves available to help and support students all the time, many of them even giving out their home numbers to students in case they should ever need to talk. Nearly all students that attend Northwestern have a deep passion for their faith and are on fire for the Lord. Students and faculty have such welcoming and sincere personalities, which makes it easy to get to know people. Friendships created at NWC are something cherished by everyone. There's not a place on campus where you won't receive a smile or salutation. The light created by the Lord is apparent on this campus and in its students.
