4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I love living off-campus because there is more freedom and independence than having to live on campus with rules.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: The Party scene is very reserved and you must know someone to get into parties.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Off-Campus dining is a lot better than on-campus dining.

3 College Senior

Administration: I think the schools administration is fair. It is lenient for those who are of age to drink and strict if underage.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: There could be a better variety of food here. There isn't a lot to choose from either.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I wasn't awarded with a scholarship here.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: I never stayed in a UNF dorm. I transferred and was not required to live on campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: From what I know it's there is a lot, not sure how good.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a ton of places to live, but everything is typically extremely expensive right there by the college. When you venture out to different areas of town things get more expensive, but the drive is also longer.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Have to have roommates to make it affordable.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There's a lot of great restaurants in JAX but you'll have to drive to them.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Everybody that works on campus is really nice.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Decent Scholarships. Would be nice if more was offered.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Food isn't too bad. Just a little expensive at times

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love UNF! Most of the professors are great and the new library is AWESOME.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The Athletics at UNF are getting better with each passing year. We don't have a football team, so we don't have to worry about that. This being said, a lot of the money that would probably be reserved for football ends up getting distributed to all the other sports. Varsity sports are definitely well liked at UNF, but lots of students participate in intramurals and club sports too, because the varsity sports programs at UNF are limiting. Baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, and track are pretty much it. Plenty of people love plenty of other sports, and they're not about to let the fact that they participate in "non-varsity" sports stop them.

Off-Campus Housing: Honestly, it's all just about the same anywhere. The stuff closest to campus has a population overwhelmingly made up of students, and it dwindles the farther away you go. There's a good middle ground around 5 miles away from campus that has a lot of decent prices, with more professional families living there.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: It's fairly average. We're still a small school, so it's not like it's Partyville, USA.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: St. John's Town Center borders UNF. just a little beyond that is the southside Tinseltown area. No matter what you want, just between those two places, there's something for everyone at any price.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I haven't been in many positions where I was directly affected by their "strictness," so I think it'd be unfair to give much more of a commited answer.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: UNF did this ridiculous and horrible thing a few years back where they "streamlined" (read: cut and gutted different departments and rolled them into one) the incoming student experience by making a "one stop shop" for people to go if they needed records, financial aid, etc. It's horrible. I've waited there for over a half an hour for a simple question's answer.... and there's no way around it. They don't answer their emails, and it takes multiple weeks for ANYTHING you submit to make ANY progress. Those people are understaffed and underpaid. Rather than continuing to build all these ridiculous new things, UNF should spend a little bit extra and shore up the One Stop shop, because it's hard to get anything done with my student account presently.

Campus Food: The Osprey Cafe dining hall near housing is absolutely the best bang for your buck as an all you can eat, buffet style flat-fee. Like all buffets though, sometimes the food is overdone and dried out, or just doesnt taste incredible. If you stick with the healthier stuff though, it tends to be on the better side.

It's lame that some places don't have free refills but other places do, especially when it's all run by the same company (Chartwells). I don't see why The Boathouse and Osprey Cafe get free refills, but the cafeteria below the boat house, or chickfila, chop-n-wrap, etc cant offer free refills too. It makes all of their drinks incredibly expensive relatevely speaking. When I have to pay $2.00 regardless if I get a refill or not, you can bet that I'd rather go to the other places JUST for the refill, since the quality of food is exactly the same.

Off-Campus Housing: Haven't seen many but were ok

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: It's close to home and feels safe. Social atmosphere is getting better. Go ospreys!
