Local Area: It depends on the transportation you can find. There aren;t many attractions; the city is rather quiet.

Local Area: I love Winston-Salem. Tons of parks, public art and local restaurants/businesses.

Local Area: People in Winston Salem are very friendly towards our students. We often walk from the campus to the Washington Perk or downtown towards Camino (both are very tasty coffee shops), and it's always a wonderful experience. Many food establishments and cafes are within walking distance from the campus.

Local Area: Winston-Salem is a bigger city, but the only interesting parts are downtown and the historic district. Luckily campus i located just outside of both. Campus sits between downtown and some of the ghetto areas of the city.
Winston-Salem is known as the city of Art and Ambition. There are always tons of great art exhibits and shows going on nearby including the monthly Art Gallery Hop on the first Friday of every month. We also just got a Trader Joes.

Local Area: The night life is pretty bad, but overall, there is a lot of art events like plays, gallery hops, and more. The downtown area is very nice to walk around in or eat. There are local college sports that are fun to watch, and Hanes Mall is a good place for shopping.
