Technology: There are computers everywhere. The library has hundreds of computers available and you are also allowed to rent-out Macbook Pro's for free! There are plenty of desktops and laptops available for your use, so if you didn't have one of your own, you'll always have access to one!

Local Area: Charlotte is one of the biggest cities in North Carolina! Downtown here is beautiful and of course there is Carowinds! There are plenty of huge malls and restaurants! I forgot to mention the Panthers stadium and Charlotte Bobcats!

Weather: Charlotte's weather is known for being bi-polar, but I doesn't affect my campus life very much aside from the rain and cold

Weather: Not much that hinders classes from being cancelled. But when there is a chance for snow classes are surely cancelled.

Guys & Girls: You have your menagerie of people, those who are attractive, others who are not so much. Most everyone one is kind. You have your typical sororities that have some girls that are quite attractive, and with fraternities you will have a hard time finding a man who is a true gentlemen.

Drug Safety: Drugs are not a big part of UNC Charlotte at all. Most of the people I know about just smoke a lil. OMG, but drinking is another thing. There are so many DUI' s on Campus its ridiculous. There flags around the campus to represent the amount of DUI's but its only taken as a joke.

Majors: As a Biology Major, it has to be the hardest majors to take up. There's more classes in chemstry than biology and all the classes are a challenge. Also, the classes are independent, meaning tha you will basicaly teaching yourself. If you are dedicated and is not a procrastinator than this is the major for you. I became an undeclared as soon as I failed my Chemistry Class. I wanted to become an Orthodontists but I'm taking a different approach. If I had to do it all over again I would have researched the Biology major before I signed up. If I knew what I was going up against then I believe I would have done better. Finding a job though with this major will probably have to result in some sort of medical school before you are able to find a job. However medical jobs are always in demand. So if you are willing to take the challenge then you wil definately find a job in the field of your choice

Guys & Girls: Everyone is unique in their own way at UNC Charlotte. There are the city boys, country bumpkins, and just regular boys. The girls are really sweet and pretty. Some have a deep southern accents which are really cool to hear from time to time. Even if you are from Charlotte, people's accents will surprise you.

Weather: The weather awesome. There isn't much snow or hurricanes. If there is a weather alert, then classes will be canceled immediately. Once spring rolls around everyone is outside enjoying the day

Parking: The parking prices seem to be over priced since there is limited space. After 10:00 am there is really no place to park and the walk to class becomes long when you do find a place to park. There is not a need for parking if you live on campus, yet if you stay off campus you have to park on campus and pay the ridiculous fine. Make sure to come to school atleast 15 minutes earlier for parking accomodations

Health & Safety: The campus is safe, but there are many car break-ins and thefts.

Athletics: UNCC is in the process of having a football team. There seems to be a lot more school spirit because of that.

Off-Campus Dining: There are not a lot of places to eat off-campus that will give you a student discount. Since UNC Charlotte is a commuter school, there are not a lot of restaurants in the area anyway.

Majors: The psychology department at UNC Charlotte is engaging and supportive. Each month they have a department wide open networking event keeping which is very successful. I was extremly satisfied with the education provided from their diverse group of professors.

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity in the university from what I can tell. There are some Muslim women who have to cover themselves in traditional garments, some boys openly cross-dress as women, and there is always a mix of students in each classroom. However, it's common to see wide diversity in the first couple of years of college, up to the end of the sophomore year and the 2000 level classes. Once junior and senior years get going, I've noticed much less diversity in the classroom because there are fewer minorities finishing their degrees. For example, my senior seminar had 15 white students and 2 black students. But regardless of who or what people are, there is a wide range of acceptance and friendliness from peers that make UNC Charlotte a great place to go to school.

Administration: When a professor writes a syllabus, they really stick to all the rules of conduct, especially when it comes to late work, absences, etc. I had one professor give a classmate a zero on a weekly assignment because she had to write between 100-200 words, and only wrote 99. Ridiculous. Yet they always lecture too long so that the assigned work is never on track with the calendar. It's frustrating to have to rush through the last couple of weeks of class and prepare for finals when they don't spend enough time on the material. If you want to do well, you just have to show up.

Majors: I've been in four majors since I started here (I know that's a lot!) and the professors and advisors have all been really helpful. I started as a business major and now I'm in criminal justice and my minor is gerontology. There are a ton of resources to help students that are graduating and help look for jobs and tweak resumes. There are many pamphlets and books that can help you find a job good for you and that fits your major. There is a career center and there are career aptitude tests for those who are unsure about their majors.

Technology: There are plenty of computer labs here, and there is almost always one free. The library has a ton of computers and printers so it's easy to find one and to print things. I've never had a problem finding a printer on campus. There is WiFi in almost every building so you can bring your own computer as well and then you don't have to worry about weather the labs are crowded, but it's not necessary to have a laptop since you can rent one in the library or in the Student Union.
