Scholarships: if you are an international student, forget it. there are very few departmental jobs like RA/TA

Campus Food: there not many vegan options if you are looking for few, but the overall cooking and stuff is good. there are lots of coffee shops to hang out.

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments are really good and well maintained. its easy to get one if you hurry up and book as soon as you get your admit. Plus communities like UT/UT north are cheap.

Technology: The mosaic labs in Duke and Smith buildings are excellent with computers available to all with the best configuration and possibly every software in your field of interest. Plotter and printers are up to date too.

Transportation: There is plenty of parking options at UNCC. you can park off campus and shuttle to school or park in the lots and decks around campus.... However, you have to be willing to park away from your classes. Both of which are pretty inconvenient. Shuttles run throughout campus to make up for this though. Parking passes vary depending on need, but are still pretty expensive.

Administration: The campus is not too strict. I am not really sure exactly what it means, but I hardly ever see police unless they are riding around patrolling. Not too many crimes committed.

Campus Housing: The housing situation is pretty good. It is fairly clean and well maintained.

Party Scene: There are a few bars and hot spots around campus, but there are many clubs and bars in downtown Charlotte.

Scholarships: They did not have much money to give out this year and in the past years they had only given small amounts for grants.

Guys & Girls: It is very diverse here. You can see a wide range of age that attend here and a lot of different ethnicity.

Weather: The weather seems to be great on school days. Snow days are reasonable.

Technology: The computer labs are used a lot, but not overcrowding. The WiFi connection does need some debugging, because I still have to log-in every time I get on campus. The printing is easy and fast. I love the sheet quotas that engineering students are allowed each semester.

Transportation: Public transportation: There should be some sort of discount for students because $2 per person, per trip to ride the bus and downtown train is ridiculous. But gets you where you need to be.
Campus Shuttle: Is easily accessible, and free so its pretty good.

Diversity: There are many races, sexual orientations, and many clubs full of diversity but many times it goes unnoticed due to the school being predominately white.

Parking: The parking rates are ridiculous because they are $450 the last I heard. I know that faculty is over $500. I truly believe that UNCC is not being honest with what they are doing with the money that we are already giving through our tuition.

Campus Food: I would really like for there to be healthier choices but other than that, there are good choices around for students to choose and the convenience shop has a relatively accommodating hour.

Scholarships: I have always had problems with funding my education because of the lack of money from financial aid. I would suggest doing scholarships every day and hoping for the best. Always look out of loans too.

Health & Safety: I feel safe at Charlotte and anytime I have been in need for safety or for health issues they have been real helpful

Campus Food: I enjoy the meals on campus. The soup and salad bar in the dining hall is one of my favorites

Party Scene: I am not into the party scene. I am a member of the dance team and between that, my studies, and working I really don't have alot of extra time.

Scholarships: Financial aid is difficult to obtain and is somewhat subjective. My first year I was able to obtain enough aid but my second year I didn't get enough because I had a problem with my fafsa. A good suggestion is to make sure your paperwork is in on time and to check back regularly with the financial aid office.

Campus Quality: Half of the overall buildings on campus (including dorms) are older and in need of cosmetic repair; especially the high rise dorm buildings on the front of campus. However, the other half of the buildings are new (mostly the engineering side of campus) and are gorgeous. There are concrete plans to renovate the older existing buildings in the near future though.
