Drug Safety: I commute to campus so I don't know how bad the it is in the dorms but from my point of view it is honestly not that bad. I hang out with friends who drink but they don't pressure me to drink at all. You do hear about people talking about their plans to drink on the weekends or during breaks but they're of drinking age. Again, I commute so I don't know how it is in dorms.

Technology: I'll start with the internet. Our internet is available everywhere on campus HOWEVER, the internet is very bad. Depending on which building you're in, you either have it or you don't despite the fact that they made it campus wide. It also depends on how many people are on the internet. If there are a lot of people on the internet at one time, chances are you won't have any access. Exam week is an awful time to be on the wifi. Your best bet would be to hop on a computer in the library if you really want the best internet connection. Printers are available everywhere and you're able to print from anywhere using your phone, laptop, or tablet. You don't need a computer but it's a lot more convenient if you do bring your own. It makes it easier to take notes and do research.

Weather: Charlotte has really up and down weather during the end of winter. One day it'll be 70F and the next it'll be 50F. Overall it doesn't get too cold (I think the lowest this year was around the lower 20s). When it snows, school is cancelled 99% of the time which is great and you don't make up the days at all. During the summer it's very pretty and gets really warm. It does get super hot every now and then but the scenery makes up for it. Whenever it's hot, everyone is walking around and the campus looks really populated which is how it should be. People are bike-riding, having picnics, exercising, and doing work outdoors. It's really nice to see people outside and all the cold winter months where everyone stays inside.

Academics: My major is Exercise Science and I personally love my major. You get to really learn your professors here. There's not many of them so you end up having several of them a couple of times during the major. You get to know your classmates as well because we all have the same classes together even though there is a lot of us. The professors really care about our well-being and they're really cool people. The workload isn't that bad, but you have to make sure you know your stuff. You end up certified as an Emergency Medical Responder, CPR/AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens as a class requirement. These certifications will also be needed during senior year of the major since we have to obtain an internship. Overall the major itself is really cool and the building we're in is also getting renovated so future generations will have an awesome facility!!

Diversity: UNC Charlotte is really a diverse campus. There are people who come to study here from a lot of different countries to study here and it's really cool to interact with these people. There are many different accents and was that you can learn about different cultures as well.

Local Area: There's always something going on in the city of Charlotte but it's hard to get around anywhere if you don't have a car. Without one you either have to catch a ride on a bus, or with a friend because downtown is a ways away.

Scholarships: Financial aid at my school is the worst. I could barely afford to go here.

Off-Campus Dining: There aren't very many places, but the options available are good. (chipotle, cookout, ect.)

Academics: Some of the classes are hard. Many special study options are available, but they don't really help.

Technology: My wifi in my dorm is ALWAYS turning off. I contacted campus tech support and they told me that there is nothing they can do. It does it for everyone.

Parking: I can never find a parking space by my dorm. I always have to walk a long distance.

Athletics: The gym is so small. If you don't get there early a lot of the equipment will not be available.

Administration: The campus is not very strict, unless it comes to parking.

Weather: The weather is usually unpredictable. Some days its hot, while other days it is raining and cold. When it is hot, walking to class is not the move.

Drug Safety: The police walk around the dorm halls to make sure that you aren't loud and disturbing people on the weekends. If you are too loud and you have alcohol, they will most likely write you up.

Greek Life: I know some greeks, they aren't really a lot on campus.

Transportation: The buses on campus do not run on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. There is also a 2 dollar bus fee for the busses that go off campus.

Off-Campus Housing: They are many options for off-campus housing, especially since the school is expanding and many new developments have been increasing. Most of the affordable apartments are you get what you paid for. The newer apartments are pretty expensive though. Most of the closer apartments are made especially for room-mates (pay for your room only). If you want something different you have to venture out a little more. There are many town homes, and homes to choose from as well.

Diversity: I see a lot of acceptance. There are plenty of students from different backgrounds that work together in groups and work pretty well together. There are many religious groups as well, and I never see anyone making the people part of the groups uncomfortable.

Technology: There are some buildings on campus which will not let you get on the Wi-fi. The library is the best place to go for that. They have printers in the library and in all computer labs but you need to make sure you have money on your ID card to use them.

Local Area: I love Charlotte. You have the parks and greenways to take advantage of, the suburban areas with their malls and shopping strips. Then you have downtown with bars and clubs. South Charlotte has an art district which reminds me a bit of Brooklyn, NY. It's a great place to visit if you're into art/beer/food.

Transportation: If you are trying to get from one side to the opposite of campus, you have the campus shuttle at no cost to you. They even have an app to let you know when your bus is going to be showing up. I take public transportation and at a cost of only two dollars, it isn't too bad. Taxis are always expensive but they are usually parked all around campus so you never have to wait to long for one.

Party Scene: If you know the right people, you can get invited to a decent party. The campus is a 20 minute drive to the city where you will find plenty of bars and clubs.

Campus Housing: Freshmen year I stayed in the oldest buildings on campus. They were very small, value was pretty low, had to wake up early to get hot water, and not much of a community. The newer buildings are nice, and make you feel more at home.
