Overall Experience: I will be starting school in the fall as a graduate student. The campus is enormous compared to where I went for undergrad. It is very pricy however there is plenty of housing near the school that is convenient for walking to class

Overall Experience: My experience with these professors are bad because I'm doing a science based major and every science department on our campus is either on probation or going towards it.

Overall Experience: Employers are always looking to hire people from UNCC.

Health & Safety: There are police around but its not like their doing much. People go hide in certain places to do 'certain' things and magically they're never caught. + the security guards in the building are past their prime so I'm really confused on how they would help if something went wrong bc random people are just able to walk in & out of dorms behind a group of people.

Campus Housing: The cost to live on campus is ridiculous. It's better to live off campus. The application is easy to fill out and better if you have a roommate that you know; signing up for housing is also better when you are a upperclassmen.

Greek Life: Greek life is basically for the Greeks and nobody else. Unless you know somebody you're not getting into a party.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: The teachers that I have had were either rude or helpful. The science department is total trash; the chemistry and physics department is on probation and the biology department is hell on earth. The school cares more about appearance rather than keeping their students updated on safety issues.

Academics: Very helpful professors with sufficient teaching facilities.

One point I noticed is that there is a lot of repetitions in classes. The syllabus is set by the instructor alone and sometimes, you have the same material covered in more than one class.

Diversity: Lots of international students with different beliefs.

Overall Experience: The academics in the school are the best, but the administration is very bad.

2 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: The campus is OK, but it is not advised to walk alone at night. I have heard about a couple of incidents inside the campus.

Overall Experience: I am an international graduate student in UNC Charlotte in my final year. Generally, the academics this school are very good, but the administration is very bad.

- Academics. the professors are very helpful and the facilities are good.

- Administration. The graduate school and student accounts have very strict regulations and they are not helpful at all. In fact they make it more like a stock market than an academic institution.

My recommendation is that if you have an admission from any other graduate school, do not come to UNC Charlotte.

Party Scene: Uptown is pretty far from campus so I've only been there once to go out and it was kinda a hassle getting there and back. The nightlife is fun if you know the right people but there's not always things to do.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The party scene isn't very big and fraternity parties are mainly all that happen that I know of. They are fun sometimes but also sometimes annoying with the rules to get in.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: All the classes and professors are relatively great but our chemistry department is very poor.

Diversity: Walking through the campus everyday and sitting in class, you see a great deal of diversity and everyone seems to get along very well.

Drug Safety: I don't really hang around those scenes so I am not completely sure but I do know people talk about them a lot so I assume they are pretty easy to get for some.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I WAS CHOSEN TO APPLY FOR 60 SCHOLARSHIPS AND COMPLETED 35 OF THEM. MY GPA IS 3.5 BUT UNC CHARLOTTE HAS YET TO GIVE ME ANY SCHOLARSHIPS.

Health & Safety: There are campus police always patrolling around the campus as well as the Blue Light stations that are mostly everywhere on campus. The buildings are secure at night and everything is fairly more lit up now than my first year at UNCC. The campus police patrol the architecture building often because it is accessible 24/7 by architecture students, so it is comforting to see them walking around.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: At UNC Charlotte, all of the opportunities are available, you just have to seek them out. There is a Hire-a-Niner system that lists on and off campus jobs and internships. If you work hard and prepare, your chances are much higher than only finishing and having a high expectation. Getting to know your professors is a huge advantage to getting into the network faster. The key is to get involved in the things that you are passionate about and there should be a correlation between personal interests and work ethic. You, the student, are the key to your own success.

Greek Life: Indifferent and uninvolved: architecture student

Athletics: Architecture students don't have time

5 College Junior

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I haven't joined a sorority but I am highly considering it!
