Campus Food: i honestly prefer to dine at prospector just cause crown and sovi can get old real quick. crown serves the same thing on the regular and sovi gives small portions , forcing me to be a fat ass and get up and get more food. but sovi is better food wise hands down. alot of people like prospector cause chic fil a and salsaritas are in there. sometimes the union is the best cause wendies is in there and the line isnt as long as chic fil a at noon. i feel like the meal plan is expensive for the sh***y food that comes from the dining hall. no wonder everyone runs out of DB weeks into the new semester.

Scholarships: okay uncc is very confusing with their financial aid, i wanted to give myself a concussion having to deal with them. i got awarded a certain amount of money, they told me it would be enough to cover me for the year, but to my suprise i get a huge payment out of nowhere of $4,000 that i owed to the school or otherwise my courses would disapear and all my semester of hard work down the drain. plus they make no sense in explaining things.

Campus Housing: on campus living isnt bad, its just that the space is quite small, not very spacious and can feel like your trapped in a box. especially in the high rises. its quite expensive so most people decide to live off campus or commute. UNCC is known for being a huge commuter school. i lived in wallis hall one semester, in the suites, it was very tacky because the wall was tile like and yellow with hardwood floors. yuck! and then i lived in scott hall one semester, and there was stink bugs and elavators jammed easily, but was prob the cleanest out of all the high rises. uncc's housing halls arent very "social" unless you live in moore hall, sandford (which is being broken down), dont expect to meet hall mates and become close. everyone usually keeps to themselves, which is why people go home on the weekends and move off campus as soon as possible.

Athletics: Attendance is low at games

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: Boring- you can only go to clubs and bad frat parties

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: More options and higher quality than on campus dining.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They're very lenient on serious issues like drugs and partying, but are strict with parking...

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I got many grants last year with no hassle.

Campus Food: The cafeterias are awful, but our fast food options are very good.

Campus Housing: It's just a typical dorm with no memorable perks. I made a decent amount of friends and the activities ran by the RAs were fun.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of off-campus apartments but don't expect anything fancy. Break ins happen all the time and good luck finding a parking spot.

Party Scene: There is no party scene on campus. The place is completely empty, and although they've been trying to make it more social on the weekends, people either go home or stay in their rooms.

Off-Campus Dining: We have the basic options: pizza, Chinese, and frozen yogurt. If you want something more diverse you need a car because they usually don't deliver.

3 College Senior

Administration: As long as you do what you're supposed to, you'll be fine. Keep a level head and don't do anything stupid.

Scholarships: Financial aid constantly gave me problems and it was a struggle to pay for school.

Campus Food: The first time I went to Sovi, it blew my mind. The food was delicious and had great variety. The cafeteria was clean and spacious, and the music they played was upbeat and set a good environment to hang out with your friends and eat.

Campus Housing: It's probably better to live at home if you can. While the campus is big and seems like there might be a lot to do, the school is empty on weekends and unless you have a car, you're stuck watching Netflix in your room.

Party Scene: I only went to a couple of parties my freshmen year and none of them were on campus. I rarely hear of parties outside of fraternities of sororities.

Athletics: It's fun to go to games and most are free to students. Intramural is a blast, and they have all different kinds of sports from flag football to tennis... basketball, soccer, volleyball... so much fun!

Off-Campus Housing: There are several different apartment complexes on the edge of campus. They're reportedly cheaper than living on campus, too. I prefer to live on campus, because then you don't need a car or to commute at all. All the buildings are close by and you can just go back to your dorm and take a nap between classes instead of waiting around until your next class or driving in and out of traffic. The school hosts some information sessions where representatives from all nearby housing people come to campus and give out free stuff.

Off-Campus Dining: They have a cookout, a chipotle, and a moe's right off campus. They also have a frozen yogurt place nearby.

Administration: I missed 36 classes this semester and made a 4.0. Also, I was taking 19 credit hours at the time. Although, I probably wouldn't recommend missing that much class. Certain classes, like language courses, take attendance and allow a certain amount of absences before penalties. Other classes uses clickers and quizzes as participation and attendance. Some teachers are okay with you being absent as long as you participate when you are there and turn your stuff in on time and with good quality. If you're caught drinking under age, odds are you'll get a drinking ticket. Don't do drugs in your dorm... or on campus. If you do, and you get caught... good luck. Visitation in dorms is super lax. At least our building has 24 hour visitation hours. The honor code is taken very seriously.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: It wasn't a problem at all for me. Sent in the documents that were requested and everything else was smooth sailing. I knew exactly how much I was getting and how much I needed to pay.

Campus Food: Personally, I think the food in Crown is fine. There's variety, but I would say the biggest problem is it's not necessarily healthy food. The meal plan is actually pretty expensive as a freshmen. My suggestion is to get a meal plan with 175 swipes and $300 db instead of the Unlimited swipes and $200 db. 175 swipes lets you swipe people in and the unlimited plan does not. I had unlimited my first semester and then switched to 175. I swiped in around 40 people throughout the semester and I still had over 50 at the end. And my DB lasted longer, too of course.

Campus Housing: The cost of attendance is pretty reasonable all things considered. The suite style dorms are pretty nice. I wouldn't like the high rises because an entire floor shares a bathroom, but maybe that's just me. In suites, four people share a bathroom. The building I live in is awesome. Everyone gets along for the most part and we host a lot of social activities. Conveniently located to get to different academic buildings within a 15 minute walk. Housing process is a piece of cake.
