4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Most of the departments are great (ie. Math) but the two in particular that are lacking are the physics and chemistry department. There is no "good" physics professor, only which one is less awful.

Overall Experience: Lots of opportunities for co-ops and internships through hire-a-niner

Campus Housing: Don't live in Hawthorn, live in South Village. So many people and great way to get to know people.

Greek Life: The Greek life here thinks they are something they aren't. Only one of the frat houses are on campus, all the houses in Greek village are sorority houses. The parties are meh, most of the guys and girls aren't attractive and usually aren't very engaged academically.

Athletics: Our football team is very young, but we have lots of school spirit during football season. New gym is great, lots of club teams and sports

Overall Experience: This school has lots of money for research and is constantly expanding. The amount of support they offer students is just amazing.

Overall Experience: My professors are great. However, they're jobs could be made easier if the department would purchase much needed equipment.

Overall Experience: There are many job recruiting and internship fair opportunities around campus.

Health & Safety: On campus safety is high. Off campus safety is certainly a concern.

Campus Housing: From what I hear, most students enjoy their time on campus. Like most upperclassmen, they prefer to move off campus when allowed.

Greek Life: I honestly do not know much about Greek life at UNCC. I have never been interested in it, but also have never been pressured into participating.

Overall Experience: I'm a firm believer that you what you get out of a program is a function of what you put in.

Athletics: I am not a huge fan of athletics at my institution. The future is promising as the football team only started two seasons ago.

Campus Housing: The housing process is incredibly easy. I love living in an apartment on campus, it allows me the ease of cooking at home or I still have the option to eat at the other food accommodations on campus. Living on campus allows me opportunities that I wouldn't have access to if I were living off campus. This includes having access to educational support and study groups. The dorms are fairly close to the main campus so its only a short commute to classes, the gyms, or any of the food options. The prices are a bit steep but if you can find a dorm cheap enough for you, it is truly more beneficial to live on campus.

Overall Experience: So far, I have had an interesting learning experience at my University. Coming from a technical community college, it was difficult trying to transfer credits into the engineering department that I had been accepted into. The classes have a higher level content but tend to be more theoretical based rather than having a technical application. The actual campus is much larger than I imagined; it is clean and well spaced out. There is constant renovation going on around the campus but it does not interfere with everyday activity. More sidewalks are being added, new parking decks and dorms are being built in record time to accommodate the ever growing enrollment numbers. I am enjoying my time here at the University, it provides many opportunities to grow, not only educationally but personally as well. This is one of the top schools in North Carolina for Engineering. They provide many job and internship opportunities not only for the graduates but the undergraduates as well. I would choose this school again if I could do it all over.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. There are the blue lights that you can see wherever you are and there are apps that you can use too if you need. The police station is also very close to campus and could get here quickly if needed. I also like that there is a security guard in each building every night and that they walk around to check if everything is ok and safe.

Overall Experience: Every class and every professor is different. None of my classes are "too large" which is a plus and you can always get the help you need. Most of the professors really care about you excelling in classes and are always there to help.

Greek Life: Greek life isn't a huge part of UNCC but just like football, it's a fairly new aspect to our campus. If you are involved in them it definitely makes it easier to meet people and find things to do but you can also do that without being in one. A lot of the Greeks don't have houses on campus and if they do they are kinda small and don't look like a "fraternity/sorority house" and their off campus houses are pretty far sometimes.

Athletics: Since our football is just beginning and we are not very good, our fan base is not good and the school spirit is very low. I wish those were a lot better but maybe over the years it will be. Our facilities are also very nice since they are fairly new.

Overall Experience: I love the size of this school and how diverse it is. I love all the people I have met and the clubs that i've gotten involved with. I got so lucky with the roommates I was placed with and my only complaint would be all the construction around campus but I am excited to be a part of its expansions of the school itself and the sports teams. UNC Charlotte is placed in a great location with things to do all the time and I don't think I would've enjoyed my other school options as much as I enjoy UNCC.

Academics: I love how easy it is to register for classes and meet with advisors. I think academics are taken seriously and help is always offered at no cost. All of the professors I've come in contact with have been helpful and have a strong knowledge of what they're teaching. The work load is heavy, but that's expected at any university. The library allows for reservation of private study rooms which is helpful during the semester and during finals.

Health & Safety: I have always felt safe on campus. I know the cops make it a priority to be easily reached in case of emergency.

Overall Experience: I would say there is a ton of variety when it comes to picking classes for general education requirements. I have never had an issue with any of my teachers and all are easily reached during office hours. I finished my fall 2015 semester feeling as though I learned a lot and grew academically.
