4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: UNC is pretty diverse in its student body. You will see a lot of the preppy guys, but there's so much more than if you keep your eyes open.

College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Not sure how to comment on that...

Guys & Girls: Lots of people around here. Many complain about the ratio, but it hasn't been a big enough issue. Depending on your major, dating may or may not even be possible/important.

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of people that are both determined and motivated. Most people also work in having a social life that is exciting and fun. The students at this school are the complete package.

Guys & Girls: Guys and girls on campus are fairly athletic. You will see many people wearing workout clothing for everyday attire and many people take care to stay in shape or get in shape. It makes sense considering the many sports students are involved in. Students have many interests on campus, but again athletics win out at the top.

This isn't a big-city type of school where everyone's wearing all sorts of styles of clothing. In the warmer months, girls wear workout clothing and shorts. Guys wear workout clothing and the typical khakis and tees. In the colder months, girls wear workout clothes and pants. Guys wear workout clothes and sweats.

I'm repeating this, because that is seriously the apparel of the majority of students. So, if you are used to wearing crazy, funky, things, your attire will either shift eventually or you'll look one-of-a-kind.

You can find all sorts of people on campus and you just have to look deeper to find someone who attracts you, beyond their looks.

I will say girls, if you're into the suave, sophisticated, "city" type guys, you will not find him here.

Carolina offers many opportunities to meet people of the opposite sex for friendship or something more. There are parties, clubs, organizations, sports, and many communal places that students meet up. Guys are in luck at Carolina, as UNC has a high percentage of ladies on campus, and there is an abundance of smart, beautiful, and talented collegiates. UNC also has a great atmosphere to maintain a serious relationship if a student should so choose, with lots of romantic restaurants, picnic spots, and plenty of couples activities. If students want to venture a little further, there are plenty of weekends in store that involve hiking trails, beach fun, and camping.

There are so many different types of people at Carolina that it is relatively easy to find someone that you will click with. It seems that everyone is the cream of the crop here, so it's hard to go wrong. One of the most popular sayings at Carolina is "Carolina girls are the best in the world," and the same goes for the guys. There is a mutual respect shown at UNC, and it leads to a cohesive and collaborative atmosphere that sometimes yields long-term relationships.

Social Scene
It is quite easy to meet people at UNC. It is up to you to interact with all the people that will be placed around you though. Granted, because UNC's gender ratio is tipped disproportionately to the women, it is slightly easier for men to date and interact with women. However, because there are so many schools in the area, ladies have a prime selection to choose from as well.
Hookups or Relationships?
There are many students who are in relationships-either with another UNC student or with a student from another college in the area (NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, etc.). At a school with 28,000 students including the professional schools, there is definitely a chance to meet someone for a relationship, a hookup, or whatever you might be interested in. Good places to meet people are definitely bars, clubs, and frat parties, but sometimes those late-night study sessions can lead to a romance, too.
Dress Code
Carolina features a wardrobe as diverse as the student body. Students wear what they please and aren't judged for that. Fashion is definitely a means of self expression, but it doesn't take on a "hoity-toity" feel. All that being said, Chapel Hill students do clean up quite nice.
