There's a reason students are dazzled when they first move to Greensboro to get an education: It's a fabulous city. When people say "there's always something to do," they mean it. There are even two, free weekly publications in Greensboro ("YES! Weekly" and "Go Triad") that feature entertainment sections with calendars loaded with local happenings. There are several theaters, parks, shops, churches, restaurants, museums, and more bars than you can count. There really is something here for everyone—all you have to do is get out there and find it.

Of course, most of the fun stuff requires that you have money, which can be a bit of a problem for the average financially-challenged college student. That's why it's a good thing that Greensboro is a college town because several local businesses understand this and offer discounts if you present your student ID. It is also pretty easy to figure out fun things to do on a budget after you have been here awhile because you learn to be creative. Greensboro is a fairly big area, so even a mini-road trip with friends through the parts of town you're unfamiliar with can be exciting. Who knows what you will find!
