Guys & Girls: There are different types of girls and guys at school. It makes the school fun because you get to hang out with different people which may depend on what you're trying to do. For example, if you want to study or go out to the club, you may find yourself changing friends. There is definitely more girls than guys on campus. In addition, the guys aren't that handsome. There isn't a football team so social life revolves around Greek life, but you don't have to be in it to make friends.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The guys are cool here at UNCG. The girls just blow you out of the water. So many different choices to choose from.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of LGBT students at school.Way more than other universities my friends at UNCC and NC state go to.

Some things just never change. That's definitely true for the disproportionate ratio of females to males on this campus. UNCG used to be a teaching academy for women, and it doesn't look like the population has strayed too far from what it once was. Honestly, if a major deciding factor in your choice of college is the number and quality of guys on campus, you might want to look elsewhere. Now, on the other hand, if you're looking for a campus swimming with all kinds of attractive women, UNCG might be your kind of place.

More than likely, you'll base your college selection criteria on something a little more intelligent, so you will probably approach dating like the rest of us here: You'll take your chances. Don't feel so grim about the possibilities, though; most students blossom in college far more than they did in high school when it comes to dating. It's not uncommon to hear about random hookups and one-night stands at UNCG, but not to the point of total campus trashiness. The less you fret about your romantic disposition, the more new people and amorous experiences are almost guaranteed to come into your lifeā€”so just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Social Scene
UNCG used to be a women's college, and the student population still mirrors this fact. The campus ratio between guys and girls is about 30/70, so the dating scene can be a bit strained at times. Of course, UNCG has a large number of openly gay students, so this affects the social scene, as well.
Hookups or Relationships?
Hookups seem to be the norm, especially for people in their freshman and sophomore years. Although one-night stands can happen to anybody, upperclassmen tend to be a bit more tame and willing to settle down into relationships.
Dress Code
Always very casual. Guys are usually in jeans and a T-shirt or polo top with flip-flops or sneakers. Girls are very similar, with more feminine pieces, like tank tops, Capri shorts, and heels thrown in.
