Unfortunately, if you’re not into parties at all, you may be a little hard-pressed to find a lot going on after hours on or around campus. UNH is dominated by the party scene from Thursday to Sunday and sometimes lasts the whole week. Although many parties aren’t Greek-oriented, Frat Row is the place to go for true authentic college raging. Before or after these parties, many students go to the downtown bars, which offer live music, dancing, and alcohol. Apartment and off-campus parties are also a big hit with UNH students who enjoy a more intimate setting and relaxed atmosphere. Just about anybody should be able to find their niche at either of these two types of social events.
For students who are underage or uninterested in the party scene, UNH does its best to provide alternative entertainment, with events such as concerts, movies, and performances in the MUB. Most weekends, though, the campus is taken over by parties as the main form of enjoyment. Even though there aren’t any clubs within the Durham area, the majority of UNH students feel that the nightlife is in no way lacking. However, if you come from a big city, such as Boston or New York, the nightlife at and around UNH might not be what you’re looking for.
