Greek Life

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek students are full of self-entitlement. You can really look at someone and know if they're in a sorority/fraternity. It's in the eyes, really. That is kind of a generalization though because I do know a few people in sororities who are nice..... emphasis on few...........

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I am not in Greek life and i am still indifferent as to whether i want to become involved in it. However, i have met some of the nicest people on campus in certain fraternities. there are definitely huge dynamics between the fraternities on campus but if you're interested, there are plenty of options for all! Unfortunately i do not know much about sororities.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is the social fraternities, and I have not hear much of them besides parties. The sororities are more known for their service. There are also some academic type fraternities, but they are not heard from much.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I am not very familiar with Greek life.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There isn't really a point for greek life at UNH. It's just for rich kids who want to party

Since all the Greek houses are very close to campus and all in the same general area, it is hard for most students to ignore Greek life on the weekends. Overall, the amount of students in the Greeks system is small, but there are always parties on the weekends, and Frat Row is where most student enjoy going. The Greek system at UNH is large enough to satisfy those who really want to become involved without shutting out students who choose not to. Not being Greek won’t kill your social life, but pledging can make it a lot easier to meet people and keep up with the party scene.

Although the Greek system may dominate the social scene, there are rarely any problems with authorities, despite a few violations that have suspended a couple of fraternities. Contrary to popular belief, the Greek system at UNH is not just there to party. Many Greek organizations are closely tied to the school system, and they also help the community in a number of service programs. However, many students who join fraternities and sororities say that the Greek system at UNH made their experience twice as good, and the people they met are friends for life.
