Drug Safety

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is definitely still drug use on campus, like all campus's but it doesn't make us who we are as a school.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: If you wanna smoke weed, you'll find friends that do too, if not there are plenty of others that don't. Either way, it's pretty easy to find people with your same views on drug use.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Most students are athletes and Mount is very strict about their drug and alcohol policies. Students want to play so in most cases will not put that at risk for drugs and alcohol.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Marijuana is a slight problem.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Smoking, drug use, and underage alcohol consumption on campus or in dorms are strictly enforced and consequences are severe if found.

The drug scene on Mount Union's campus is really only there if you're looking for it. Most students feel that less than half of their peers use drugs, and aside from a faint smell in the dorm hallway from time to time, it's really not that noticeable. The most popular drugs on campus are marijuana and prescriptions like Adderall and Vicodin; harder drugs like cocaine are much less prevalent, if used at all. The consequences for being caught with drugs or drug paraphernalia are severe, and may even result in expulsion from the University.

Alcohol, on the other hand, is a much different story. Social drinking is a popular pastime at Mount Union, and everyone knows it. There are strict rules in place regarding alcohol consumption on campus, but punishments tend to be mild, and there are still plenty of students (over 21 and otherwise) who drink. However, peer pressure is pretty minimal, and students say that no one will treat you differently for staying sober.
