5 College Student

Local Area: Columbia is the perfect example of a "college town". Everything here revolves around Mizzou. We have a beautiful downtown area that is within walking distance of campus. But there are also many other things that a college student could find to do here. We have movie theaters, bowling alleys, parks, malls, and much, much more. I would definitely recommend this amazing university.

Local Area: There are plenty places to go but only great if you have a car. They have the true/false fest which brings in a lot of tourists and most of the residents come to support the football team.

Local Area: Columbia is not exactly a small town, but not a big city. You will always find something fun to do. Columbia has MKT Trail, which is great for hiking. Plenty of clubs and bars are also available for those that like to go out. The downtown district is a great place to hang out and get coffee, and Columbia is very safe as long as you stay away from the north side. Overall, great place to live.

Local Area: Aside from having to get through a traffic of slow walking while texting students, its not bad.

Columbia is a quaint little town. Much of the architecture on campus and in town is very old-fashioned looking, but the town is deceitful. In Columbia, you can always find something to do, whether it's hanging out with friends on campus, going downtown, attending house parties, or just walking on Katy Trail. Students do spend a lot of time on campus, not including class time. Students play Frisbee on the quad, soccer/football on Stankowski Field, or just wander around with friends enjoying the weather. When students need a break from campus activities, they step off campus right downtown for some more walking and sightseeing.

Mizzou is not the only school in the Columbia area. The University also shares the space with Columbia College, Stephens College, and MACC (Moberly Area Community College). Stephens and Columbia colleges are both located within walking distance of MU's campus. There is no rivalry between the schools, and many close friendships are formed between the students.
