Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Check your myZou account frequently for an answer.
  • Don't stress.
  • Make sure you get all of your records in on time.
  • Take the ACT more than once.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Always keep an umbrella handy. You'll be sorry if you have to rush over to Brady Commons in a Missouri-style downpour with your geology book shielding you from the rain.
  • Don't give money to homeless people in downtown Columbia. Instead, donate money to a local food bank or charity.
  • Go to class.
  • If you see the cops coming through the door of a house party, put your beer down, and if they ask whether it's your house, shake your head, don't panic, and never run!
  • You should leave your mementos from high school at home, especially yearbooks. Those suckers are heavy, especially when you have to lug them onto an airplane.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Call the Office of Admissions at (573) 882-7786 or (800) 225-6075. Typically, a campus visit starts with a 45-minute overview presentation. Students can also meet with someone from an academic department they're interested in.
Campus Tours
Campus tours are offered Monday through Friday. Sign up for the admissions presentation and campus tour by contacting the Office of Admissions at (573) 882-7786 or (800) 225-6075.
Overnight Visits
For students attending Summer Welcome, staying on campus is your best bet because then you are introduced to people that you will be seeing in classes for the next four or five years.
