Don't let Mizzou's reputation fool you. RAs take their jobs pretty seriously, and if they catch you doing something wrong, you will get in trouble for it. The most prominent offense is drinking in the dorms. Students can get kicked out of dorms for this offense and could even be suspended from the University. Many first-time offenders are charged a monetary sum and have to take a class on alcohol awareness. Having drugs on campus is a totally different story. Tolerance for drugs is very, very low. RAs can automatically call the CPD (Columbia Police Department) if they catch a student with drugs.

The CPD has become very strict about drinking and driving, as well as underage drinking, in the past few years. They walk around during home games and pass out citations to underage drinkers. Visitation at dorms is not a big deal. Students can have friends over, just as long as things don't get too loud and rowdy.
