Off-Campus Housing: The biggest con in Off-Campus Housing is the cost. I absolutely think rent is overpriced everywhere and I don't think it's fair for any students involved be it their parents paying their rent or not. Another thing in regards to cost is that you have to factor in that tuition continues to increase every semester and even with scholarship money a student might still have to pay another $1000 out of their pocket and still have to buy books its ridiculous.

Greek Life: Myself falling into the non-Greek category I think Greek Life does a lot for the community be it social, programs they're involved in, and the events and philanthropies they put on. The only drawback I necessarily have is that for some reason "Greek Week" or anything truly Greek related is segregated. None of the Black Fraternities or Sororities are located on campus. There is only one Multicultural Fraternity as well as only one Multicultural Sorority. I think that all Fraternities and Sororities should be equally presented during Greek Week.

Health & Safety: On campus I feel some safety, but I know that some of my female friends don't .Which is a sad world we live in I know that there have been measures to increase the safety of all students, but there doesn't seem to be enough action or I guess intentional help from other students in regarding topics of safety. Some students don't want to learn how to help and have the privilege and ability to "look away" or "turn the channel" on something that doesn't directly involve them or makes them feel uncomfortable.

Academics: I would say that there is definitely a great source of academics at the University, but there are always some professors that are exceptions to the rule. There are definitely some professors who just don't seem to understand the course-load each and every class has to offer on top of other activities. I literally need to do things other than classwork to keep my sanity, but it seems like no professor truly understands that and treats them as excuses.

Party Scene: There are parties possible each night of the week, but the best parties are during the end of the weekdays and the weekend.

Greek Life: Greek life gives a positive atmosphere on the campus, they are very much respected, and there are houses provided for each chapter.

Majors: For International Business, you really don't have all the time in the world to make a decision. The business school has many entry requirements that take awhile. So if you are a junior and decide to study business, you'll be at school for more years. With my program, I had a lot of credit requirements because International Business is a dual major, so it can be a hard major to achieve. You also need to be well rounded in both liberal arts and business. Not everyone is a good fit. If you are a freshman and are considering business, take some business classes now so you can get in when you are a junior.

Majors: I can't speak on behalf of all business students when it comes to internships because I did mine when I was studying abroad in China. But I can say that doing an internship abroad is a rewarding experience and I would rather do that than be a "coffee boy" for some local company.

Health & Safety: Campus and the local area are pretty safe. The only concerns would be venturing to the north side of town and for women walking alone. Like any college, be careful and aware of date rape drugs. But Columbia is A LOT less dangerous than St. Louis and Kansas City.

Local Area: Columbia is not exactly a small town, but not a big city. You will always find something fun to do. Columbia has MKT Trail, which is great for hiking. Plenty of clubs and bars are also available for those that like to go out. The downtown district is a great place to hang out and get coffee, and Columbia is very safe as long as you stay away from the north side. Overall, great place to live.

Campus Housing: I love my room in south. I have a 4 person suite and I get a lot of personal space which is what I love. I also like going to my friends dorm Galena because it's so social. In the end it's nice to have my own space though.

Overall Experience: At any school you go to you will have hard teachers. You will have amazing teachers and you will have amazingly hard teachers.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is very easy to find. Most of the off campus housing isn't too far from the school but you have to sign up for apartments almost a year in advance.

Party Scene: This is a place where you can party to your heart's content. Finding a party is not difficult at all. The night scene downtown is great. The best days to party are Thursday to Saturday, but you can still find something to do all days of the week. I think partying can be a positive impact on the student experience depending on the person. I think too much partying and not enough time on school is not good, one needs to find balance.

Administration: Alcohol is not allowed in the dorms, but if your RA catches you, you're not going to jail, so don't worry. The same cannot be said for drugs. A lot of people make the stupid mistake of smoking pot in the dorm and your RA WILL smell it and you WILL be arrested. Some professors have strict attendance policies, while others really don't care if you ever show up; it's your education. Recently, the school has gotten more strict. Smoking tobacco is no longer allowed on campus (RAs are required to hand you a smoking ticket for lighting up). Generally speaking, the administration is strict, but not too strict.

Greek Life: I was never in a frat, so I can't say how it's like to be in one. However, they cause a lot of alcohol-related incidents on campus. The fraternities also tend to be racist and treat women poorly.

Athletics: Our football program is HUGE!

Mizzou offers so much to its students that it is hard not to fall in love with the school. The school provides many internships through your major and different work-study opportunities dealing with specific career paths. The difficulty of the classes and the toughness of professors prepare students for work outside of school. MU is unique because it gives students so many opportunities; whether you would like to be a football star or a vet, it offers both and everything in between.

If students had to go back and redo their college application process all over again, Mizzou would still end up being many students' choice. MU offers students a lot of opportunities to advance their career paths, minds, and friendship circles. The school has provided students with everlasting experiences and knowledge.
