I absolutely love this school. I have been here for a year now and there are so many great reasons to go here. First of all, the university is located in Duluth, MN on a hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Superior. Around campus, there are countless places to hiking and adventure. Even in the cold, windy winter you can ice skate, play hockey, or go snowboarding. Additionally, the UMD Bulldogs are a division one hockey team and the games are incredibly fun. In my experience, the academics line up exactly with my major and I feel as though I am getting a lot of knowledge out of my college experience. Although our diversity is low the school is working to change that and there is a center within the school called the Multicultural Center that harbors a lot of amazing and diverse groups. This provides a starting point for expanding on one's cultural knowledge. Overall, I would highly recommend the University of Minnesota Duluth.

I came in as a transfer student my second year of college. I have found that in the big classes it's easy to get lost among the crowd, but in the smaller ones, if you show the professors you care about their class and your education, they will look out for you. The only reason I did not give it five out of five is that the campus is pretty cliquey and overall, lacks diversity.
