Local Area: Ann Arbor is one of the best towns with a lot to do. You can never be bored here on a weekend night with frat parties, pinball petes, bars, clubs, and cafes. There are so many great stores shopping is always a low key option, as well as lazer tag or go to a play or the movies. It is honestly a wonderful city full of opportunity.

Campus Housing: Everyone hates to live on North Campus, but I love it. The quite up here is amazing, and it honestly is not hard to take the bus down to central. Up on north you have still have a library and a lot to do. Plymouth road nearby has many great food spots and grocery stores. I have heard central campus is great too. The food may be the only downfall

Transportation: Public transportation is pretty good. There are both university and city bus-lines that are free with a student ID.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: There are a lot of buses usually running early in the day, but sometimes it gets extremely packed when a lot of people are getting out of class. Usually at those times there aren't very many buses running, which doesn't make sense. And if you have early final exams, you are pretty much screwed because buses BARELY run and there are hundreds of students waiting for a bus. That said, there are a lot of bus stops so there's always one convenient for where you need to go.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: You would be surprised at how many different races and religions you see around campus. I think U of M is one of the most diversified public colleges there is. There are tons of international students and it's always fun to see them interact and learn more about their cultures.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a tremendous amount of places to eat, so you should never get tired of eating anything here. But the dining halls do sometimes get a little crowded, and at certain times of day, the food is a little cold. There really isn't much to complain about though!

3 College Freshman

Parking: If you park where you are not allowed, you will most likely get fined

4 College Freshman

Technology: It is so easy to access computers on campus because there are many labs

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Smoking is not allowed on our campus and I rarely see of hear of poeple doing drugs.

Academics: The academics here are wonderful. There are so many courses that cater to anyone's interests from Introduction to Computer Music to African American Studies. I love this place and even though the workload for anyone will be challenging, if you focus then you will be fine. Popular study places include the Ugli, which is the Undergraduate Library, and the different lounges in all the dorms. One of the best ones are the lounges in Alice Lloyd because that dorm just got renovated. In terms of special study options they offer tutoring and study groups for people who request it, which is a major help in any class and will not hurt to get.

Transportation: Usually there is a bus to get everywhere around campus. I use it for work school, and even going over to different apartments. If you are trying to go to a party or something I usually see people use cabs in which you have to pay. One thing I love about the University of Michigan is Safe Ride. Any time during the night you can call them and they will pick you up from you destination and take you home. I absolutely love it.

Scholarships: It went pretty well. I was anxious at first about the results, but in the end they took care of most of my situation. I do not have to pay too much for school.

Academics: There is so much rigor involved with trying to be a business major at the University of Michigan. I am taking Calculus and Economics at the same time and it is so challenging and not to mention the other classes I have to take. Sometimes it is hard to balance out all of my classes, but it is worth it if I can get into the Ross School of Business.

Scholarships: Because I am an out of state student, there are practically no scholarships for me. As a Russian language student, I can apply for some outside funding that is administered through the school, but overall, there is very little available to out of state students and the cost of tuition is very high. If, however, you are and in state student, I understand that there is actually quite a bit of funding to make school here affordable.

Campus Quality: The facilities at University of Michigan are pretty great. The buildings have a lot of beauty and history. If you are willing to take the time to look for it, you can find quiet places to study in just about every building. The student union has affordable food, quiet study areas, a game room for student, and a place on the top floor to go and de-stress as well as many rooms for student organizations to meet. Speaking of which, there is a student organization for everything...even one for feeding the squirrels.

Academics: The Center for Russian and East European Studies is a small, cross-departmental concentration. They are very enthusiastic to work with and help students and know everyone since the number of students majoring in this degree is relatively small. Because the classes are drawn from other departments, there is opportunity for a wide range of knowledge, or the ability to narrow things down. A lot of the classes are understandably offered through the Slavic department and the professors there are excellent. In all, I have felt a lot of personal interest in me and in helping me succeed by being part of this Center.

Academics: I chose University of Michigan for the CREES program. I'm very pleased with the program, classes that I've taken, professors, and advisers. I have been looking into adding another major though and they don't offer specifically what I'm looking for, international relations. I could do a poli sci degree with an international focus, but there are actually few classes offered that fit that category.

Transportation: Public transport is pretty good. The business run usually on time and have a variety of routes. It is somewhat hard to time the buses on campus through, so usually I had to take a return route throught the bus station downtown, which can be a bit of a walk. But bus fare is free with your ID card, so you can't argue with that.

Weather: The only good weather is basically the first week or two of school. Once mid-fall or winter hits, temperatures drop drastically. Just to give some insight, it hasn't stopped snowing for the past week and a half, and just a week or so ago it hit -17 degrees in the early morning (7:00)

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: My answers may be a little biased being greek myself, but many greek organizations do go out and try to make a difference through volunteer work, fundraising for philanthropy events, etc. Also, most of the large parties are thrown in greek housing.

Campus Food: Dining halls are not all the same. North Quad and MoJo have good variety. Bursley and South Quad are pretty good. Most have good variety and quality. You can always find decent food. I like that you can go to any dining hall - not just your own.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I don't see/encounter any drug use among students. But I do see old hippy-types smoking weed.

3 College Freshman

Technology: I feel as if this user answered the question above in a very straight to the point answer. I feel they could of elaborated more about the computers and mentioned the nextwork reliability and speed which they seemed to have left out.

Diversity: User 1234 started off the paper well with a great opening sentence but as they progressed the essay only focused on race even though the opening sentence also included relgion. They only spoke of white students rather than the other races that are also at the University of Michigan. The university is one of the most diverse schools in the world and the fact that this user was only able to speak in his opinion about one race makes him very ignorant to the fact that there are other ethnicities.

Guys & Girls: Example User 1234 described the looks of the guys and girls at his school but did not describe any of the other topics asked in the question above. He was very short and to the point and did not elaborate on other topics that would of made his writing more interesting.
