Transportation: Buses are really frequent during the week and have many stops. The buses run pretty late on the weekend, but there's also SafeRide if you need to go somewhere after the buses stop running.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Engineering program specific gradee of an A.

extremely demanding. and pretty rough courseload.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There are always a ton of people on sight..
not unless its past 2AM.
central campus, generally speaking.

Its more creepy on north campus at nights, i don't know why there aren't any crime alerts up there.
its always down on central!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Gets old REAL quick.
some bigger dining halls are most preferred.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: many many bars to hop around.
many many parties to drop in n have fun in.

but gosh, clubs are bad.

Majors: I am very happy with the English department at UM. I've learned a lot about life through my classes here, not simply overanalyzing novels like so many of my high school classes. I'd really like to be a teacher of some kind in the future, perhaps at a parochial school; I don't think I'll have trouble finding the kind of job that I'm looking for.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: There are plenty of commuter lots, some of which are right near campus. I'm not sure how much permits actually cost, because I still don't have a car on campus (you really don't need one unless you live a ways away from campus). The Ann Arbor buses are great for going grocery shopping, even if the trip takes longer than it would with a car, because they're free for UM students. Parking in the actual city is expensive and adds up quickly, though parking is free on Sundays.

Guys & Girls: Outside of greek life it is kind of hard to find good looking girls. The typical girl here is not hot, but you can find a diamond in the rough every once in a while. People are very smart and friendly here though.

Campus Quality: We have many great gyms, courts, pools, tennis courts, fields, basketball courts, and anything you can think of. These are in okay condition, but our academic buildings are always in great condition, along with very clean bathrooms and showers.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I have never gotten in trouble because I have not done anything incredibly stupid. Many of my friends have gotten trouble with alcohol in their rooms or by being drunk. As long as you are quiet and are not making a scene the officers will not bother you.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: There are lots of computers available to use to but the wireless internet isn't the best. At times it's fast but it's not always reliable. Plus for some reason when I use my laptop on campus, the wireless internet, it freezes but never freezes at home. The

Diversity: There are many different races of students here. And most people can find someone with similar interest to theirs.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I've never felt in danger but students always receive emails about crimes that happen by the campus.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Public transportation is generally good, at least for both the campus bus system and the Ann Arbor city buses. Most people don't take taxis unless they need to, because of safety reasons, because the campus is right in downtown Ann Arbor and easy to navigate. Also, the campus buses run fairly late, for those living on North Campus and needing to get home.

Diversity: The diversity on campus is a reflection of its world-wide prestige. It has a high percentage of minorities and international students from all walks of life. Generally, everyone accepts the diversity of culture, religion, and other beliefs. Like most academic institutions, Michigan has a liberal flavor.

Greek Life: Greek life is there for those who wish to participate. Largely, it is seen by non-Greeks at Michigan as a distraction from academics. For those involved, it can be engrossing; there is the potential to have great community, but it is a substantial time commitment. If you're serious about succeeding academically, Greek life is not a necessary part of your undergraduate experience.

Majors: I'm a grad student at the SPH. So far i've really enjoyed it. Workload is average, sometimes a lot sometimes not but managable. The school is pretty nice. The curriculum is well thought out.

Party Scene: I love it! drinks are expensive but there are lots of options outside of the bar life too

Campus Housing: Housing if fine but expensive. There are lots of different options however.

Scholarships: In my experience, financial aid is not the easiest to attain, especially for middle class students. However, in recent years there appears to be a decrease in the number of students who come from a low-income background. This may be due to the difficulty in attaining aid.

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of off-campus food options in Ann Arbor. Definitely something to satisfy every taste. Price varies depending on type of food/restaurant and location (typically, the closer to Main St., the more expensive...). The restaurant scene is generally very hip and enjoyable.

Party Scene: University of Michigan has a very good nightlife, whether you're a freshman or a senior. There are a variety of bars on campus that are open fairly late and many people go to. However, the bulk of nightlife stems from Greek life. Greek life is prevalent here, and there are always some parties going on for those under 21. Also, many older students and athletic groups will sometimes throw house parties, which can get packed but are extremely fun.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: My friends who look for housing have not had a hard time finding a place to live. However, the pricing for the quality of housing is a little extreme whether it be an apartment or a house.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The process of getting into Movement Science in the School of Kinesiology was relatively easy. It required an essay and a small application. I was a cross-campus transfer. The process of directly attending this program as a freshman may be a little more difficult because you are applying to get into the University of Michigan as well as Kinesiology. However Kinesiology loves taking Freshman students and it would probably be easier to get into this program rather than LSA.

College Sophomore

Majors: I am looking for an internship now. In my field, it's very difficult to find a paid one. However with the University's help, it becomes easier. My biggest concern is not knowing how to go about finding one. I know they are out there, but I have a slacking resume and not many connections. However, in order to become a Physical Therapist I need to find one
