Greek Life: As a member of greek life, I love my sorority and the housing that I have

Technology: Good wireless access but hard to find available computers at the computer labs.

4 College Student

Diversity: It's not extremely diverse but it is very accepting.

Athletics: It's no secret that UMich values its football program more than any other program on campus, athletic or non-athletic. Huge profits come from the football program, which is reflected back in the athletic campus facilities. Fan support is almost overwhelming, and it's weird when people don't go to the games. UMich has incredible school spirit during sports seasons, especially football and basketball season.

Guys & Girls: There's a wonderful mix here. Mostly, everyone is pretty smart, but of course there are those few ignorant people that need to reevaluate their ways of thinking. Not many people I have met are snarky or stuck up. The atmosphere here during the week is serious, but friendly. On the weekends, everyone is more relaxed and outgoing.

Administration: For me, alcohol and drug regulation in the dorms is very important. I have seen a number of people busted by campus security for underage alcohol use. There are policies that students can't sleep in public places in the dorms, which I don't agree with, but I usually sleep in my room or in someone else's anyway.

Greek Life: When it isn't rush week, sometimes Greek life is barely noticeable. The Greek community focuses on campus involvement and betterment, so it's not just a system for throwing huge parties.

Off-Campus Dining: Being in Ann Arbor is fantastic for local, vegetarian, vegan, or ethnic options. There are a number of great Indian restaurants, vegetarian specialty restaurants, as well as Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean restaurants. A number of chains are present, but they do not overwhelm the plethora of local restaurants. The local restaurants are a bit more expensive, as most of them are specialty restaurants or they serve local, organic foods.

Overall Experience: What I love about UMich is Ann Arbor itself. The town is very welcoming and open. For someone with a marginalized identity, Ann Arbor is a town in which you don't have to be on the defensive all the time. Being a queer person in Ann Arbor doesn't make me feel like I am in danger all the time. The University has liberal policies and quite an extensive anti-discrimination policy that encompasses a number of identities.

Drug Safety: Personally, I don't go out that much to parties to just get drunk or high. Usually if you tell people you're not up for drinking on a certain night, they'll leave you alone and won't pressure you into it. In the dorms, alcohol is strictly regulated, but some students still slip by unnoticed.

Campus Food: What takes away from campus dining are the few late-night options. The places that are open until 1am are not the actual dining halls, they're places where you have to purchase food. Thankfully, UMich gives students at least $200 to use at participating cafes, and the money you don't use carries over from fall to winter. The dining halls are everywhere, so no matter where you are on campus (if it's during the day), you can find a great place to eat.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: I am a Michigan native, and I'm used to harsh winters. I love the beauty of the snow and ice on campus. If you bundle up enough, the cold is no problem.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: It's pretty good. The guys are pretty attractive in general.

Party Scene: The city is alive at night, and most people go out Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday. There are many clubs and bars to choose from, not to mention the fraternities and other house parties available.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Generally the safety services are okay. Not outstanding, but also not terrible.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The BBA program at the Ross Business school, although difficult at some times, is very rewarding and one of a kind in the university and nation.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are very willing to help and the resources available to help you are vast.
