Campus Housing: The dorms are all pretty nice but there are some that don't have air conditioning and those are the most undesirable places to live for the most part. The best options are those that are newly renovated or have the best dining halls. The best places are any of the "quads" however South quad which is reopening this year won't have air conditioning but will still have plenty of amenities. Those places also have some of the best dining halls. MoJo which is in the Hill Neighborhood is also one of the best and has one of the best dining halls on campus. The cost of things aren't too high. If you have a dining plan, you won't need to spend any money really with the exception of the occasional trips to Walgreens or CVS. But there are other small fast food restaurants both on and off campus that are available.

Guys & Girls: Michigan is full of attractive and relatively...not attractive students. There aren't too many people who dress "out of the ordinary," but for those who do, they aren't judged or ridiculed for it. UMich has a very open and accepting community. There are plenty of hook ups and long terms relationships all around campus but there are also plenty of single people so the dating scene is always open.

Administration: For the most part, when it comes to alcohol, you will only receive violations or warning when you are being a nuisance and drawing attention to yourself. The police don't generally breakup parties too often but sometimes will be around or near the scene just to assure that everything is okay and that things don't get too far out of hand.

Athletics: We have the biggest football stadium in the country! The student sections at our football and basketball games are always the best and full of nothing of spirit. There are workout facilities for non-athletes on both North and Central campus, which is where anyone who is living on campus will be. Football Saturdays are huge, everyone is in Maize supporting the team and people from all over come to see our team play.

Health & Safety: Very rarely are there alerts of crime around campus and when there are, they are rarely violent. In most cases, they are reports of petty theft.

Greek Life: Greek life throws some of the best parties as expected, in both standard frats and sororities and Black Greek life. Greeks are viewed by non-Greeks as peers. There is no special or negative treatment given to them. A lot of the Greeks have nice houses but there are a few with run down houses, those are the ones who clearly care solely about partying and may not have the money to keep up their homes.

Campus Food: Michigan is currently rebuilding and updating all dorms, including the dining halls in each. Some places don't have the best food but there are plenty of places that have some of the best. All of the places that are recently renovated have the better food and the biggest dorm we have on campus, South Quad, is being renovated now to open up Fall of this year and will offer over 10 restaurant options. There is plenty of variety in any dining hall that you go. The best places to eat are East Quad, North Quad, and MoJo. Probably South Quad too but no one knows for sure yet. Outside of dining halls, there are cafes and stores all around campus where you can buy snacks and meals, like Victors in MoJo which is the best!

Academics: Like any college, you will have some good professors and some poor ones but all in all, there are plenty of proclaimed, excellent professors that anyone would be lucky to have. Registration is quite easy and can be done in the comfort of anywhere you have WiFi access. Also, wireless internet is available all throughout campus for students and is available for guests as well free of charge. Every so often, the wireless may be unreliable but this is rare, and even when it does happen, there are plenty of computer labs throughout the dorms and academic buildings that everyone has access to.

Local Area: Ann Arbor is one of the best college towns around! There are plenty of restaurants, clubs, bars, theatre's and more. And anything you would look for is not too far away. There is also a great bus system throughout the area so getting around Ann Arbor in general is quite easy. And there is a bussing system that travels solely around the UMich campus. Both of these options are free for UMich students as well.

Off-Campus Housing: In general, the dorms are a lot nicer than the houses around campus. However living on campus, there isn't much parking. And if you live off campus, its hard to find parking when you drive to your classes. But there are a lot of nice, new, luxurious apartments buildings that a lot of students really enjoy.

Overall Experience: Michigan is the best school in the world and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Local Area: Ann Arbor is the quintessential college town. There is always something going on, and the entire city is about the University of Michigan.

Health & Safety: There is a SafeRide system in place, as well as buses, that run late at night. University Health Services is free and easily accessible.

Athletics: Besides football, basketball, and hockey games, which are all super fun to attend, there are many opportunities to be involved in athletics, including club sports and intramurals. I have played intramural broomball for two seasons, and it was fun and a great way to meet people.

Academics: Great professors, many interesting classes to choose from, dedicated students, and heavy but doable workload.

Off-Campus Dining: Ann Arbor restaurants are awesome. One of my favorites is Frita Batidos, a Cuban burger place, and Zingerman's Deli is up there as well.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of options in terms of off-campus housing. Students typically move off-campus Sophomore or Junior year.

Campus Quality: Campus is beautiful, and the Big House is by far the coolest facility on campus. It is our football stadium, the biggest in the world, able to hold roughly 115,000 fans. Going to games is incredible. Academics are competitive but fair, and the professors are always willing to meet with students in or out of office hours. Michigan students like to have fun, but are also extremely dedicated to their studies.

Campus Quality: The Big House is amazing and football Saturdays are the best.

Scholarships: Financial aid is nearly impossible to receive if you are an out-of-state student, despite having to pay a lot more to attend.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus police are fair and don't try to get students in trouble unnecessarily.

Campus Housing: While many freshman are placed on North Campus for housing, I was lucky enough to be a part of the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program, housed in Alice Lloyd. Alice Lloyd was in the area on campus known as "The Hill" and it is about a ten minute walk to class on Central Campus. Living in the dorms was fun and a great experience.

Guys & Girls: The social life is great, particularly during football season. The entire school goes to games and tailgates on football Saturdays, making for one of the best parts of the year.

Campus Food: Some of the dining halls are better than others. Probably the best is East Quad, followed by North Quad. Mojo is one of the bigger dining halls with more options, while East Quad and North Quad are smaller. Markley has limited options, although make-your-own pizza is fun and pretty good.

Athletics: the sports team is the best
