Scholarships: I wish i could have gotten more money for school.

Administration: School policies don't usually interfere with student academic or social lives unless others are harmed or something illegal is being done. They're just there to help regulate the flow of students and visitors and help the university function at its best.

Technology: Computer labs are found everywhere on campus and they're always reliable to use. Sometimes computers run out during semester crunch time so be sure to bring your own computer with you and you will easily find a studying spot nearby. The wireless network is easy to access and from my experience, it has always been fast and reliable.

Athletics: The Athletic scene at Michigan is very important. The football team is a source of pride for all students, the football games are a must-see because the school spirit celebrations are so fun to join.

Scholarships: My experience with receiving financial aid was easy and smooth. I applied to federal aid and received it about a month after applying. I also received a scholarship from the school of architecture itself which was merit-based. I'm generally happy with the financial aid process.

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining is the best type of dining. There's so much variety to choose from, both in terms of the kind of food and the price. Central campus has the widest variety and they are all walking distance. There are the food chain options and the one-of-a-kind options. Unfortunately, there are no student discounts although having that would boost restaurant profit. Some of the best places to check out are Mani's Osteria for the best pizza, Frita Batido's for Cuban cravings, and Gandy Dancer's Sunday brunch!

Local Area: The school has different campuses that are about 15 minutes away from the center. Central campus is the best place to be; there are many fun dining, shopping, and studying options. There are many historical buildings on campus that are really inspiring to visit or study in. Also, the fall and late spring are the best times to be outdoors, whether you are out canoeing with friends or reading your favorite book. Some of the area attractions are the university art museum, the museum of natural history, the "Diag" in front of the graduate library, and more.

Diversity: The best part of being from such a diverse campus is the exchange of beliefs and opinions that happens. You can learn a lot by meeting someone and talking with them and usually, people like to talk about their backgrounds. You will definitely meet people of differing ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds. For the most part, people are accepting of other backgrounds and I haven't run into any challenges. You obviously have to give respect to be respected and that's how I feel about living in harmony with others. Student organizations are very active on campus and you can always find an interesting activity to attend.

Campus Housing: I did not live in Campus Housing but many of my friends did and I can say there is a variety of available options. There are older buildings and there are newer buildings but for the most part, the social atmosphere and cleanliness of the buildings are great.

Parking: Parking is not bad but can definitely be improved. A parking permit costs around 70$ for a year which gives me easy access to North Campus through a 5-10 minute bus ride. There is guest parking available on North Campus but it costs 1.25$ an hour which can quickly add up if you're planning on spending at least a few hours. Parking tickets are almost always issued if you're parked past your time limit or in the wrong parking zone. What I would like to see changed is the amount of guest parking spots available on North Campus and a lower hourly parking fee for guest parking spots.

Academics: Chemical engineering is a pretty difficult program. But It's probably like they for any other majors at the school. You really have to work hard if you love what you do. There are lots and lots of opportunities. Go to career fair!

Majors: You just have to meet the requirements to get into the program that you want. It's always competitive and have to work for it, but that would be like anywhere else. If you want it, work hard to get it.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love it. I love the academic advisors and professors in the program. They are all a great help, and would do what it takes to help you succeed. They give the great advices.

Campus Housing: It's really what you make of it. Campus facilities are in great conditions, and the school is always trying to improve it.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Love the football and basketball scenes. Hockey is great too. All of the sports are great, and this school definitely have the school spirit. Going to a football game will change your life! Must go to at all one of the sports events!

Greek Life: Most of the Greeks have housing available, and they are very, VERY big houses -- mansion-like. I don't know of their quality, but they are constantly renovating with the money they have to create a better living environment. Non-Greeks are mostly indifferent of the Greek students. People join to fit into a group, or to make new friends and have lasting friendship groups. However, you can do the same without joining one.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: There are always safety rules that everyone should follow. The school is not particularly strict about these things, but actions would be taken if lines were crossed.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are always events occurring in this college town. It has a very vibrant night and day life; it is really up to the student to make the best of it.

Despite the occasional complaints about weather, students at the University of Michigan love their school. With its outstanding academics in conjunction with its remarkable athletics, Michigan offers a perfect college balance: a great education and a fun social atmosphere. It is not uncommon to find students sporting Michigan gear around campus, and if given a choice, most would choose the school over again. Whether they are looking for academics, athletics, or social outlets, Michigan fits the bill: In addition to its highly-ranked academics, it has a highly respected athletic reputation, and Ann Arbor's atmosphere is one to be envied, consisting of restaurants, shops, bars, and much more.
