3 College Junior

Diversity: Students are typically very accepting of diversity, however there has been tension between certain groups of students. An example of this is issues between the Israeli and Arab students.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is definitely present on campus, but it doesn't overwhelm the social scene. There is a fairly amiable relationship between Greeks and non-Greeks. The Greek students can choose to live in the main houses, and there are often also junior and senior houses available. During tailgate season everyone is welcome to participate in the parties, regardless of their Greek status. On weekends it may be more difficult for non-Greeks to find parties.

Local Area: Ann Arbor was my favorite part of the college. Has all aspects of a college town. Dining and bars are amazing.

Administration: You can do anything you want if you don't bother others.

Academics: One of the best public schools in the country. Unlimited academic opportunities for those that seek them.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: Professors we good overall. Large class sizes made difficult subjects harder to absorb. Finding internships was your responsibility.

5 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Some people love it and some people hate it. Undeniable that it plays a massive role on campus.

Health & Safety: Exposure to all the doctors you will need while on campus. Wait times and convenience are problems.

5 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Unlimited options. If you can't find a major that interests you, you aren't trying.

3 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Engineering is the way to go if you can stomach math at all. Your first paycheck after graduation validates this.

Overall Experience: The sum of the experience is greater than the parts. There were aspects I didn't like but looking back I loved the school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: Standard college dining experience. MoJo is huge and has tons of options, other than that it's hit or miss. Breakfast options are usually strong.

3 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: There are lots of cliches and alot of the social scene is dominated by Greek life. It is largely predetermined which guys and girls you will associate with.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: You really have to work to find an off campus house and you better start looking 10-12 months in advance. Landlords in Ann Arbor can be brutal.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Standard dorms. Don't get your hopes up. It'll do for a year or two.

5 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Sports at Michigan will be important each and every day you are on campus from your first day as a freshman through the rest of your life as an alum. Get used to it.

3 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: It's an extremely diverse student body, almost to a fault. There is a definite divide between ethnic/racial groups on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are some really nice apartments on campus, but they're going to cost a lot more than your average off campus house.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Very Big, a lot of enthusiasm for sports, strong academic program.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: You can be as busy as you want to be. There are plenty of campus activities that you can choose to join or classes you can choose to take.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Honestly it depends on where you get placed. If you end up in one of the bad dorms your experience will be very different from the good ones.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Just schedule an appointment with the EECS advising center saying you'd like to declare. Very quick and easy.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: More difficult courseload, but its fun and many job opportunities.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus is pretty safe. There are things like Saferide if you need to go home late at night.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Good Gym, Big on sports, especially football.
