5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I was always told that if an employer had two applicants, one with a U of M degree and one with a degree from somewhere else, they would most likely be a little biased towards the applicant with the UM degree. The quality of education a student gets at this school is known world-wide.

Campus Housing: Some buildings are better than others, but you will see that on any college campus. You just have to find one you like.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I personally think that greek life is overrated. I know a few people involved in it and they seem a little superficial but they are generally nice people

Athletics: The football games are the best! Being in the big house and experiencing the excited, game-day atmosphere is a truly great experience! Other than football, hockey, and basketball, I don't hear much about other sports on campus. The athletic department does it's best by posting game times for all sports on their website and mobile app.

Overall Experience: The phrase "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine" is very true! We are offered once-in-a-lifetime experiences daily and the quality of education we receive is outstanding!

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have had all of the support that I have needed to thrive at this school. There are so many resources available for those who need and seek them. It's a great place!

5 College Senior

Athletics: Students are very involved in athletic culture and it is a very important part of social life on campus. Students are also very concerned with living healthy lifestyles and I think that it adds to student involvement in sports.

Health & Safety: I think how you feel about health and safety all depends on your gender. Like all girls know, you should try to avoid walking alone at night, regardless of where you are. However, I frequently have evening classes, and as long as you stay on campus when walking, there are plenty of lights and I rarely feel unsafe when walking alone. As far as sexual assault - there are many administrators who take it seriously and have worked extremely hard to create new initiatives to solve this problem. However, it is also well known there is a good amount of administrators who try to make it harder to report sexual assault, and many students feel they would not be treated with care and given justice if they were to come forward about sexual assault.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Lots of problems with sexual assault and other types of misconduct.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It gets really hard if you choose a field that is technical and has great career prospects, and the student debt isn't fun, but I feel confident that my education will pay off in the long run because the classes will prepare me so well. Most, if not all, administration in all kinds of departments and offices are more than willing to help you achieve your goals, whether it's an internship abroad or careers after graduation - all you have to do is reach out and take initiative.

Health & Safety: The university requires a course on sexual assault, drinking, and general safety before/during orientation. I feel safe usually but, as a smaller female, I try not to walk alone late at night.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some campus housing has very recently been redone and is amazing. Other housing, such as Bursley, has not been renovated in 30+ years. North campus tends to be neglected

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am a part of greek life, and I appreciate what it can contribute to student life. It brings community and friendship to an, at times, overwhelming campus. That being said, it does have its downfalls, but they could be attributed to the average college student, not necessarily just greek-life.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics are well or over-funded. The school spirit is above average. All facilities are beautiful.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: i love the campus, and reputation. The engineering program is very difficult but hopefully will pay off

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There are a lot of safety precautions when it comes to safety, late night free rides, emergency buttons all over campus, campus security. The school really tries hard to protect us and does relatively well.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have had some super amazing professors but also some unapproachable and mean ones. Quality of courses is pretty solid. There are lots of different classes offered. Classes are big, but totally manageable.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I can essentially go anywhere I want after school with my degree. It's truly incomparable.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Alice Lloyd, where I live is like a hotel. It's super nice and roomy. There are some crappy dorms on campus like Markley and Bursley. The social atomosphere is pretty good most of the time. The amenities are okay. The gym is super crowded and you have to pay for laundry but laundry is in the basement so it's not far away.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Most non-greek people hate greek life. Greek life tends to have a bad rep on campus for doing really stupid things.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The school spirit is amazing. I am not normally a sports person but I love to go to the events. Athletics are a huge deal here.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are a lot of wealthy students here, and as a not wealthy student, it is hard to fit in with the lifestyle here. Although there are many people I adore here, I honestly don't know if I would pick this school again. The academic aspect is wonderful, I just don't think that the type of people here are my kind of people.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Overall, there is a wide variety of activities to satisfy all interests, a lot of interesting and thought-provoking classes to take, staffed with dedicated and knowledgeable instructors, and a plethora of student organizations in which one can take part, though there is a bit of a learning curve to overcome when starting one's freshman year.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Sometimes it's hard to get into the courses you want, but overall the classes are great once you're in

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Going to the University of Michigan has opened a lot of doors for me--I'm thankful I went here
