3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: It focuses very heavily on parties and does not participate as heavily in community service as it claims to.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: I have participated in varsity athletics and can say that they are well funded. Additionally, they provide student-athletes with a lot of privileges.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My school is really great, but it places to high of an emphasis on athletics. Additionally the business school is more heavily geared towards graduates.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The courses are tough, but that is expected. If you want to learn, you will. You have to put in the effort to do so. There are plenty of resources, including professors. The classes may be large, but you can still interact with them.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The alumni network is incredible, and the opportunities after graduation are very promising.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I generally feel safe on campus, and I know there are a lot of resources for personal health. We also get safety notifications if there are problems.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Housing is expensive, and overall the amenities are average. Some dorms are much nicer than others. The atmosphere is what you make of it, so that's up for debate.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Michigan has had some issues with Greek life. There have been a few news stories, and the campus (outside of Greek life) generally has a somewhat negative view of Greek life.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics at Michigan are top-notch. Almost every sport competes in the conference, and some are competing well at the national level. People enjoy supporting the teams, and attending games/matches/etc. is a great time.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: So far I have had a wonderful experience at Michigan. The resources and opportunities are incredible, and there is a great atmosphere. If you have the drive and desire to do something, you can find a way to do it.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Generally, the professors I've had have all been phenomenal, and they teach tons of different courses. I've been able to find highly specific courses in areas that I enjoy, which is really cool. Most classes aren't too big, except for major intro courses which is to be expected.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The business school has an incredibly high job placement rate, as does the school in general. We have a great alumni network, and tons of career fairs with employers recruiting on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus crime is minimal, but still existent at times. I generally feel pretty safe, but as a male, I'm privileged in that regard. Every college has a sexual assault problem, and Michigan is no different. However, the university is actively attempting to resolve it with mandatory classes and well-staffed support services.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms on campus have been recently renovated and are actually pretty nice. However, I ended up in an incredibly old dorm with no air conditioning and tiny rooms, drastically in need of renovation. In all likelihood, your dorm will be fine. But if you get Markley, don't expect luxury. However, the social scene in the dorm was phenomenal, and almost made up for the poor living conditions.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are tons of different fraternities and sororities to choose from. Even if you're not interested in a large party scene, there are business frats and other professional frats that provide the same sense of community but are a little more calm. Most of the srats and frats are pretty good about giving back through volunteering as well.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our football team is absolutely phenomenal, and overshadows our other sports. Coach Harbaugh has brought Michigan back to the top, and we're posed for another great season. We also have a good basketball team and a great women's softball team, as well as a good men's hockey team. Generally, we have a good sports team for every sport you're interested in. The school is super spirited, especially for bigger sports like football and basketball. We love to go out and support the teams on game days.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My experience at Michigan has been incredible. The staff are absolutely phenomenal in general, with tons of great professors teaching interesting classes that they have a genuine passion for. The student body unites to support our athletic teams, and there's an incredible sense of community among students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are tons of great classes and professors to choose from, and interesting things to learn. If a topic exists in academia, there's probably a class on it, so there are many unique and interesting classes. If you are an underclassman it can sometimes be difficult to get all the classes you want as many classes fill up very quickly, but getting a good schedule is not impossible. In terms of workload, if you want to do well, plan on spending on a significant amount of time on academics outside of class.

Diversity: Pretty diverse in areas like ethnicity, religion, etc, but not as diverse in economic background and political beliefs.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I'm not into drugs/partying/etc, so mostly I'm never bothered by them. However, Hash Bash in the beginning of April is pretty noteworthy and impossible to avoid. Luckily it's a one day event.

4 College Junior

Diversity: People are very welcoming of all the backgrounds. Whenever something in the world happens then things get tense i.e. BLM, terrorist attacks, hate toward LGBT. Michigan has a large Jewish student population, minority, and muslim population. As long as you treat other kind others will treat you the same. The only ever racist thing I've experience was comments from a random townie not even a student.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: visibility there's a frat next to the student union. Actually there's greek/party houses near/next to all dorms except northwood and bursley and baits. So obviously it's visible. Ann Arbor has a good law like if you call 911 for a pass out person you and that person are exempt from any charges. I think peer pressure isn't really a big thing unless your in greek life like most people are independents by nature at umich and do what they want and when they want. Like if you know what weed smells like you'll notice the diag will be dank sometimes. Like you'll catch a whiff of weed sometimes especially in crowded places but like it's not a big deal.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Michigan has a lot to offer there is literally something for everyone. I'm serious there's even a squirrel feeding club. The academics speak for themselves #1 anthropology in the country, the arts are phenomenal. The course work is hard but what do you except Michigan is literally one step down from Ivy. Obviously, lectures are huge but discussion sections are manageable and help is always available. There's math lab, science learning center, office hours professors and psi, tutors through the university. If your not doing well it's not because the resources aren't there.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The buildings themselves are great, not including Oxford and North campus and Northwood. West Quad Best Quad. The housing process is terrible freshman have priority then underclassmen so basically anyone above sophomore year is screwed and it's going to be worst with the Provost new admittance wants. In Ann Arbor you sign your leave around November but the housing application doesn't come out until March/April plus the rent in Ann Arbor is ridiculous for the quality similar to NY, Chicago, and LA. East Quad has the best community but that is due to the building being almost completely RC students.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Football Saturdays! Michigan sports are by far the best even when we don't win.
