Academics: Many knowledgeable professors, a great variety of classes, and lots of resources for students.

Academics: U of M has one of the best Classical studies programs in the nation. It's great to have such great professors and such great resources available, and to be able to study what I am studying.

Off-Campus Housing: There is a decent amount of off-campus housing, but it is expensive and parking is tough.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Tons of options, lots of places deliver or are within short walking distance

2 College Sophomore

Administration: Pretty much anything is allowed, no attention is paid to the law, and underage students drink and use drugs freely.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I don't party, so I don't enjoy the parties which happen all the time

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: You get what you pay for.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Excited to continue with my education.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's improving with updated dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: It's a college town... Drinking is a given.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus, but there are sketchy areas to avoid.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I don't agree with the Greek culture.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: The food has improved a lot in recent years. They have many healthy options!

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: The dorms have changed a lot since I lived in them. Most now are newly renovated and have new features. Also, the dorm location (Central, Hill, or North) have a bit to do with how the questions are answered.

4 College Senior

Party Scene: There are a few choices based on what you are looking for. Most are nearby and fun to go to.

Local Area: Ann Arbor is a very fun place to live. It is a small town, but with its location in Metro Detroit many things are within an hour drive. Ann Arbor is an artsy city with many unique things to offer.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: U of M have a huge focus on athletics. Football and basketball are especially popular, however all the sports are treated with similar reverence and admiration!

Administration: The campus administration is strict enough that you feel very safe, however they are very lenient and give the students room to breathe and just be student. I like it!

Guys & Girls: There are all kinds of guys here so it's impossible to give an overarching description. However, I would say the "average" guys here are fairly laid-back, love partying and having fun but also dedicate a lot of time to studying and work hard. "work hard, play hard" is the motto here.

Health & Safety: Campus security here is quite effective. However, there are still ongoing issues such as sexual assault and alcohol abuse, which I feel that the administration could make a greater effort in preventing.

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing can be very expensive, however good deals can be found if one searches hard/long enough.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Getting financial aid here is the same process (FAFSA) as at every other school, so I would imagine it's not much easier anywhere else. Here, however, tuition is pretty high so that may be a huge drawback for some students.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are always a ton of parties going on, on any given night of the week. The party scene is there but not overwhelming, meaning that one can partake if one chooses -- but it's not in everyone's face all the time.

Overall Experience: I love it so far! All of my professors have been wonderful. The classes are difficult but not unbearable. There is a huge variety of courses offered -- ranging from big lectures to tiny classes of about 6-10 students.
