Drug Safety: What's That Smell? Every other day or so when I come back to my dorm the entire hall smells pretty weird. I'm not familiar with the smell myself, but based on the comments of others it seems like there might be some drug usage going on. Also, I've seen cops nailing people for drinking twice in my hall.

Off-Campus Housing: Buildings are kinda old, but there are many options. The new ones are expensive.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I Got Unlucky – I got the worst housing on campus but feel that the overall environment here is good.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Go Team! Sports here at Michigan are huge and there is lots of spirit, fan support as well as student involvement.

4 College Freshman

Technology: Plenty of computers available all around campus, all in very good condition.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Very Good – The people here are very welcoming and more often than not very polite.

Guys & Girls: Alot of Umich school pride, therefore you will often see yellow and/or blue shirts, caps, pants, sweaters, etc.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: South Quad Dining Hall – Not the best food. Becomes dull after a couple of weeks, but it's manageable and convenient.

5 College Freshman

Majors: No Major – I have not yet declared a specific major or minor. I went in thinking about Biomedical Engineering however it is much too hard to attain right now. I'm taking other classes to see what I might be interested in going into.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Public Ivy – This is a state school, where I pay in state tuition, and it competes with the best schools in the world. A fantastic institution.

5 College Junior

Athletics: U of M – This is Michigan for God sakes. Get to a hockey game - this is one of the great college athletic departments. It's not just a football school.

Health & Safety: Very Safe – Aside from some petty crime, maybe the occasional b & e, I feel very safe walking around Ann Arbor. As a town, its pretty harmless.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Who Doesn't Know About Sports Here! It's the University of Michigan: football, basketball, hockey, crew, tennis, gymnastics, even quidditch. We have it all. Our training facilities are top-notch and easy to access.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I am majoring in neuroscience, but since I am only a freshman I haven'e really gotten into my core classes yet. Too soon to tell.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Dorm Living – My dormatory is on North Campus, so it is a bike ride or a bus ride to get to most of my classes (about 2 miles). It actually is OK. I like getting away from the hustle and bustle after classes. The dorm has alot going on has really good food. Many freshman get placed on North Campus (not by choice), and are upset about it. But like I said - I like it.

Campus Housing: Housing Is Convenient – I'm living in the dorm and it is great to have all the utilities taken care of...some of my friends have high electric bills.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: very hard to find a place to park; average cost $120 a month.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Nice but Expensive Food Downtown; Off-Campus Either Over-Priced or Old – Nice but expensive food downtown; off-campus either over-priced or old; if you want to find an apartment near campus, it's either very expensive or old and crappy.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Safety Medium to Weak, Health Care Very Inconvenient – usually takes about 1-2 hours to see a doctor at UHS; the quality was acceptable though
lots of campus alerts, even room invasion happens;but if you call DPS, they arrive in 5-10 minutes.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Great Bus System – The bus routes are good, and there's a lot of buses that keep going until the late hours. They've also made good apps for bus mapping on your phone.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: The facilities are great, but they tend to get super crowded and loud during exam weeks. They also seem to be a bit socially segregated, especially with greek life. Engineers in the basement, various on the first floor, greek on the second, etc.

4 College Junior

Academics: Highly Qualified Professors – The professors had earned their degrees from very prestigious schools. Apparently though that means sometimes awkward nerds. They're smart as hell and teach very well but when you speak with them outside of class they seem to lack some social skills. At least this goes for the engineering professors...

3 College Freshman

Diversity: While the University of Michigan has many different people of different ethnic backgrounds, there are really only two races that are prominently represented in the student body. A majority would be Caucasian, with a very close second going to the Asian population. It's a bit of a campus joke that there are more Asians here than Asia. U of M students for the most part tolerant and accepting of all diversity, which is always nice.

Off-Campus Dining: Michigan's World Foods – The University of Michigan has more restaurants than anyone could possibly want to count, most of which are in the heart of Ann Arbor, a mere minutes walk from Central Campus. The massive variety allows you to pick from virtually any area of the world in any give price range. A $6 Chinese meal From Lucky Kitchen is really hard to beat.

Transportation: Buses Could Be Better – I wish there were more blue buses or they went farther on the weekend city buses do not go long enough on the weekend
