4 College Freshman

Transportation: I think that they provide good options for transportation

4 College Freshman

Local Area: the cultural events in the local area are really great

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: going to and from the grove is made easy with the transportation given by the school

Academics: being a double major in finance and accounting is pretty tough but the faculty help a lot in leading you to the right road and the school is also great in providing many internship opportunities.

3 College Freshman

Administration: very strict for many things but also vey lenient for others. the school is extremely strict on the honor code - violating this can and will get you expelled or suspended on the spot.

Campus Quality: People hate living in the freshman dorms, but they love, and have pride in where they lived. We even have an ongoing rivalry between the freshman dorms

5 College Student

Campus Quality: Everyone is super active, and we love to party

4 College Student

Guys & Girls: everyone is really nice, and open. No one cares who you are, or what you look like

2 College Student

Campus Food: Charwells will not work with student government, they must have their way, and the employees are treated awfully by their bosses. But the students love the workers

5 College Student

Overall Experience: I love my school, it has it's downs, but there are so many better aspects of the school.

5 College Student

Academics: Miami loves it's academic rank, and wishes to keep it very high!

Majors: So many options, and everyone takes field trips to experience their major first hand.

4 College Student

Majors: I'm in architecture, and they had an optional portfolio, where you could include any art you wanted. Also, the application was easy and straight forward.

3 College Student

Administration: Sometimes I wish they were more strict, but what can you do?

5 College Student

Party Scene: You can go to clubs and have a great time! If you're a guy you will not get into frat parties unless you have around a 9 to 1 girl to guy ratio. The frat arties turn out to be all girls, and then all the girls leave, so their parties suck

3 College Student

Campus Housing: Dorms are nice, but there are so few that almost all upperclassmen live off campus, it becomes super competitive to get ppartments that people will live really far from campus just to get a cheaper option.

Local Area: It is so easy to get around Miami, with the Metrorail (monorail) system, as well as cab services, and many different bus routes, you can get anywhere for $5 and an hour of your time!

5 College Student

Weather: It's Miami, does it need explaining?

4 College Student

Health & Safety: We have a great police force, but you won't see them

Despite daily griping about tuition costs, parking, thunderstorms, and hard classes, most students really seem to enjoy UM. Excellent attributes like the nightlife, weather, and culture seem to cancel out some of the bad things about being in Miami. For some students, these bad things include the unapproachable "hot" girls and guys on campus, while others find life in the dorms to be a challenge. The complaints about college are basically what you'd expect to hear anywhere. It appears that the bad things at UM really aren't that bad, but the good things are very good. Miami is one of the coolest cities in the world for a college student, and that goes deeper than just the superficial bar and club scene.

Students who are unhappy generally figure it out within a semester and transfer out of UM, usually to somewhere closer to home. College is tough, especially the first couple weeks if you come without knowing anyone. Making a whole new group of friends for the first time since kindergarten is one of the hardest and most stressful things you may ever have to do. But the end result of this process is friendships that you'll likely maintain for the rest of your life. Whether it's your roommate, classmates, fraternity brother, or sorority sister, college is a time when you should make friends and have fun. Despite the initial challenges of coming to college, there are few cities in the world that are as fun as Miami.
