Campus Housing: I was able to make a lot of friends living in the dorms, it helps you to meet people your first year. Most people don't live on campus after freshman year, but it's definitely convenient to live on campus.

Athletics: Student involvement in sports isn't the best at Miami, but hopefully with a new football coach people will start to get more excited and involved with the athletics program.

Overall Experience: I've had a good experience so far. You really get out what you put in, so if you study hard you can learn a lot and do well.

Overall Experience: I couldn't be more happy with choosing Miami! It's awesome! Great academics, great people, great weather, great school spirit, great campus. For me, its perfect. It's a nice medium sized school. Almost everybody here is an extrovert, and while some can be pretentious, everyone is generally very friendly. I don't regret going here at all.

Overall Experience: I've had a decent time here. I find that the people are, in general, all the same. Snobby party-goers who care more about their outfits than their classes.

Overall Experience: I could tolerate living here for four years but in all honesty, the cost of living is just too high here. Although I got a huge portion of my tuition in aid, the flights, ubers, and social life is costly. Academically, I love this school. I'm not a partier so I really do not find happiness here where 80% of the students get alcohol poisoning every weekend.

Overall Experience: For my financial situation, I wish I had looked into the costs more, that there is more than just tuition. However, the University of Miami has been incredible with the programs it offers, such as the Commitment and Civic Scholars Program. I believe the school is the perfect size near a major city, allowing it access to many resources. The culture on UM truly makes you feel at home and proud to be a Hurricane.

Overall Experience: Miami is not a good college city, no one cares about the school and its night life scene is pricey and not your typical college bar scene.

Overall Experience: My school is amazing when it comes to diversifying your life. Here you can meet people of different races, religion, backgrounds; you name it, we've got it. My university is one where you can set your standards very high and they will meet every aspect of it. What I don't love about this school is the way it makes you criticize every part of your being. I constantly worry about grades, friends, money, and appearance. Welcome to college.

Overall Experience: Miami is an expensive town, there is no "college town" experience. I wish that I went to a school with more school spirit. The people in Miami are not very friendly, a lot are rich and preppy (not my style). However, I love our Greek life and I love going to football tailgates. The campus is beautiful and it is almost impossible to be sad while in the sun all winter long.

Overall Experience: I don't regret coming to Miami at all- I love it here! I was a little hesitant coming to a school with so many wealthy people, while I am not at all. But it really hasn't been an issue at all! The student body is so diverse, I can always find people to talk to. The campus is amazing! There's so many animals, including ducks, jumping fish, birds, Ibises (our mascot), and even cats! The lake is always beautiful and the weather is perfect. It does get a little hot, but it is always pretty out. The amount of school spirit is amazing. I love seeing people all over campus rep the U! Go canes!

Overall Experience: University of Miami is a good place for some people but not for others. People at the U and in Miami in general are very superficial which makes it hard to meet people who feel genuine. Most people seem more concerned with image than anything else and that's not me so I had a hard time making good friends. Classes are challenging and professors are mixed. In general though profs don't seem to care about individual students even if you are there advisee or in a small class with them. Campus is beautiful--probably the best part of the school. School spirit is also great and if you enjoy tailgating and drinking in the hot florida sun you'll have a blast in the fall at least. Clubbing and partying are huge parts of the overall scene and social life can get tough if you don't have a lot of funds like most of the kids do at UM.

Overall Experience: the campus and facilities are fantastic and the faculty has done all that they can to welcome incoming freshmen. after only being on campus for a few days, i still have time to gather information to provide a more thorough review.

Overall Experience: UM is a great school to be at. Everyone is so inclusive and there's lots of things to do.

Overall Experience: The University of Miami has the resources, faculty, and staff of a top-tier school; however, the student body it attracts is not as competitive or focused. The administration is genuinely committed to the student experience, and a self-motivated individual can come out in four years with a strong base for employment or grad school. I would choose Miami again but investigate other options more rigorously and sit in on more classes.

Despite daily griping about tuition costs, parking, thunderstorms, and hard classes, most students really seem to enjoy UM. Excellent attributes like the nightlife, weather, and culture seem to cancel out some of the bad things about being in Miami. For some students, these bad things include the unapproachable "hot" girls and guys on campus, while others find life in the dorms to be a challenge. The complaints about college are basically what you'd expect to hear anywhere. It appears that the bad things at UM really aren't that bad, but the good things are very good. Miami is one of the coolest cities in the world for a college student, and that goes deeper than just the superficial bar and club scene.

Students who are unhappy generally figure it out within a semester and transfer out of UM, usually to somewhere closer to home. College is tough, especially the first couple weeks if you come without knowing anyone. Making a whole new group of friends for the first time since kindergarten is one of the hardest and most stressful things you may ever have to do. But the end result of this process is friendships that you'll likely maintain for the rest of your life. Whether it's your roommate, classmates, fraternity brother, or sorority sister, college is a time when you should make friends and have fun. Despite the initial challenges of coming to college, there are few cities in the world that are as fun as Miami.
