Administration: The police officers try their best to keep us safe. In the process of them keeping us safe they may break up the fun. I always feel safe on and off campus with or without the campus police around.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: The food was alot better last year ,but its healthy and the cafeteria is clean.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: The process is horrible and the customer service is worst

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: Love my apartment and my dorm I was housed in clean and comfortable

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Depends on who you know

Campus Food: When Dining Services were within the university, the food was decent. Now that we have an outside contract for Dining Services things aren't the same. Yea, we have ChickFilA and Starbucks now, but the food is under seasoned and some of the choices aren't very good either. The only thing I can say is that the healthier options is a good thing.

Campus Housing: As a freshman, I didn't like living in a dorm because of the visitation rule, but it was definitely necessary now that I look back on it. As a sophomore, I hated my housing in Student Apartments because the buildings were so old and were in dying need of some renovation. Now, I like my housing in Clusters but it needs some work & I don't like having to call maintenance every week because of an ant problem.

Party Scene: The Party scene weren't they used to be when I first moved in. Police are always ready to shut parties down and tell everyone to go home. If police are not around, there would be fights that would cause the party to end early.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing are very nice, but everyone fights to get off campus housing because they don't really like the housing on campus.

Off-Campus Dining: There are not enough off campus dining to choose because Princess Anne is a very small town. Most dining areas either close after 11 or they don't deliver. One would have to take the bus to go to town to get some food and the wait to catch the bus to go back to campus is terrible.

Administration: I feel the strictness at my school wasn't really needed because everyone at college are adults and I'm pretty sure they know they would have to face consequences if one mistake happens. The dorm I stayed at, I didn't get visitation and it wasn't fair for others, making it kind of hard for college students to see their friends.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't receive enough financial aid. I received very little scholarship money.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food at the cafeteria is very horrible.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Campus is okay, it needs to be more active.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: They're not to far to get to if you drive.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: I don't really have an opinion.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I did receive some money, it could have been worst.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food can be good some days, nothings better than a homecooked meal though.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's great. My dorm specifically is located near all my classes.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Thursday through Saturday expect to have a great time.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: After you enter Sailsbury, there is a variety of food places to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It was only my first year in college but it was a smooth process for me.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Its not that home cooking that you are use to but it will get you by.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living in a dorm on campus was a great learning experience.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I haven't been there yet but the campus is nice

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a great school because it’s not far from home for the many students who come from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area and tuition is not extremely expensive. Another plus is that the campus is large but the student body is not. This allows students and teachers to make and maintain great relationships. The availability of classes and other resources is another plus here.

And the University is only on the rise. Buildings have been added and the campus is expanding, which has allowed for the number of students, faculty, and programs on campus to grow, as well. Recent programs that have become available at UMES include aviation and pharmacy, which have brought good media attention to the campus, and in turn, brings even more students to the University. These great programs and others make it nearly impossible for a student not to find a job or go on to grad school after graduating with a bachelor’s from UMES. The University’s uniqueness is what brings students to the campus. No other campus has the same levels of diversity, individuality, and family-oriented spirit that is found at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
