Overall Experience: My school is amazing. i have mix of small classes and larger classes. The walks to the buildings aren't far. The campus is very compact which makes it feel smaller than it actually is. I would keep this school as my choice, it's in a prime location if you want to leave campus and go to D.C. or Baltimore city, to see games or go to concerts.

Overall Experience: Some professors are helpful, others not so much.

Overall Experience: I love my school, I love how its a circle and if I ever get lost I can just go back around. Really big schools overwhelm me and this is just the perfect size for me.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Diverse community and faculty is always friendly and reply to emails promptly (question about admission requirements, financial aid). I really feel like the professors here help set their students up for success

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Great place for advancing academically and career

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: The professors have been very informative and helpful throughout the semester. The hands on labs make learning difficult skills easier to comprehend!

Academics: Certainly a decent university for studies. My majors both are quite inclusive and friendly, very dedicating to the study. Work load can be intense most of the time and leaves much time for other things.

Campus Food: Food on campus is too expensive and not very good. The dining hall is fine, but too expensive without a meal plan and not worth the price.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Councilors were easy to talk to and quite understanding. They do not do a lot, if anything, to help the students find other resources

Off-Campus Housing: I found housing about a week before the semester began thanks to the school classified ads. There were a lot of people advertising, and there was a great variety in the places available and the pricing, depending on the building and other factors. The first unit I looked at was at a luxury apartment, so that was definitely expensive. The second was a room at an old rowhouse, so it was cheap but it was a considerable walk from the school. The one that I'm living in right now is a room at a "boarding house" (two rowhouses converted into one) for UMB students, and it was cheap and really close to the school. Safety was a concern, but that's because the school's in Baltimore City. Thankfully, the streets are well-lit and there's plenty of cops everywhere.

Off-Campus Dining: There's a couple of food carts off-campus, and there's several fast food places close by, like Potbelly, Panera Bread, McDonald's, and Nando's. The walk is not too far, so that's good. There's also a couple of local cafes and deli places, but I haven't been to those yet. No student discounts, I believe.

Administration: The administration is pretty strict with their policies and like to keep it updated. I like that they not only care about academic issues (e.g. plagiarism) but also social issues like sexual harassment and gender equality. I'm not too familiar with other areas of strictness, though.

Campus Food: There is a variety of food options, including gluten-free and low-calorie stuff, which is great. The taste of the food is also good, and the fact that the ingredients are locally sourced is a plus for me. However, there's no meal plan with the tuition, and the food can be pretty pricey, so that's frustrating sometimes.

Administration: Seems typical of any university

3 College Junior

Academics: Pretty basic, typical. Professors are nice, helpful. Workload varies on number of classes, but all seem intense. Registration process was frustrating, difficult to understand.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I haven't interacted enough with the administration, but they can be nit-picky.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It's fine. Students are horrible though. Will not live on campus next year.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: It's fine in the spring and summer, but it's grey and sad in the winter.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Baltimore is a great and accessible city for students.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: The effects of Greek life are negligible.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of student discounts, pretty good food if you ask the locals where to go.

1 College Freshman

Party Scene: 'Parties' are gatherings of people in dorms who get drunk off of two shots and then fall over and bum around.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: UMBC has paid for my academic experience and a little more. I only have to pay for my room.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: i don't live on campus

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: it is a good school and you are sure to have your goal
