Technology: I hate paying for printing but i thinks that pretty normal at schools

3 College Freshman

Technology: I usually use my laptop, but when I have to I use the school printers. Printing is 10 cents per black-and-white page, and you pay using your school id card, which is pretty convenient! I only use lab computers when I think all the games and etc I've downloaded onto my laptop will distract me. They're pretty good, and the internet speed is okay.

5 College Freshman

Technology: There are computers everywhere to use if you really need one.

3 College Junior

Technology: printing on campus is a cost and in limited to the library mostly and personal computers are a must if you want to ever leave the library .

4 College Junior

Technology: It gets the job done. That's all I care about.

There are computer labs located in several different spots on campus; however, with the exception of the Simpson Library, most of these labs are specified to be for classes only. So, although the provided computers at the Simpson Library are found to be fast and efficient, there is a shortage of available computers. There is no guarantee that a student will find a computer every time he or she needs one, so it is recommended that students bring their own computers to ensure access. Bringing a computer to school is also convenient because the computers at the Simpson Library are only available during library hours and are almost always occupied during exams.

The great thing about Mary Washington is that there is wireless access everywhere on campus, so bringing a laptop to class is a common way of taking notes or checking Facebook notifications when lectures get boring. However, the wireless Internet is found to be much slower in dorms. Most students tend to buy Ethernet cables for their computers to improve the connection. Overall, the Internet is not bad, and tech support is quick to help if there is a problem.
