Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • An Ethernet cord makes a world of difference when it comes to Internet connection.
  • Either bring a lot of quarters for laundry or prepare not to do laundry.
  • If your dorm doesn't have air conditioning, bring a fan. It is always hot, even in the winter.
  • Request a good dorm on the housing survey, and turn the survey in on time; otherwise, you will end up in a dorm that no one else wanted.
  • Sometimes you end up hardly using your textbook, so buy most of your books off of Amazon or borrow a friend's.
  • The girl-to-guy ratio is not overexaggerated, and you will notice it.
  • The registration process is known to be an absolute mess. Know what classes and back-up classes you want ahead of time.
  • The textbook "buy-back" ends up paying you back $5 for what was initially a $60 book.
  • There's very little school spirit, so if you paint yourself white and blue for a game, you will stand out.
  • Waking up at 8 a.m. was normal in high school, not college. That 9 a.m. class ends up feeling a lot earlier than you originally thought it would.
