Cardinal fans love to party, but you would be hard-pressed to find them partying every night of the week. For anyone who wants to go out to bars and clubs, there is no shortage of options. The Granville is very popular and right off campus, and students also go to places on Bardstown Road and Fourth Street Live. House parties are popular Thursday through Saturday, and fraternities often host themed parties at clubs off campus. Every year, partiers look forward to events like the naughty schoolgirl party, ‘80s party, and trash bash. Those under 21 can find their fun at parties hosted on campus, such as the annual foam party, and at off-campus venues like bowling alleys, ice-skating rinks, rollerblading rinks, and laser tag arenas. Check local publications like the Leo and Velocity to find listings of events for both drinking and non-drinking crowds.

There is definitely a range of experiences at UL, and one stereotype does not fit all Cards. Some people drink every night of the week and never hit the books, whereas others have never gone out on a Friday. A lot depends on personal priorities and social circles, but, overall, UL is neither a party school nor a study party. There are nightlife options here, and your experience is what you make it.
