Phoenix Hill Tavern
Phoenix Hill Tavern is a popular spot with students because of its music, drink specials, karaoke, and deck bar. Thursday is ladies' night, and Fridays and Saturdays are when the live bands come to play.
Molly Malone's Irish Pub & Restaurant
Molly's offers traditional Irish pub food (shepherd's pie, lamb stew) and international sporting events (soccer, rugby, and hurling). There's also a cool outdoor deck.
Maker's Mark Bourbon House and Lounge
Maker's Mark is in Fourth Street Live!, so it's a good place to grab a drink or some food before heading somewhere else. Considering you're in Kentucky, give the bar's bourbon flight a try-there's an extensive list to choose from here.
Zanzabar has a a great beer list, where you can get everything from the classics to imports like Strongbow Cider and Tecate.
Sully's often has events, like beer Olympics and ladies night, and hosts stars from MTV shows. It's open until 4 a.m. seven days a week.
Stooges Bar and Grill
Sports is the name of the game at Stooges. Come here to watch NFL Ticket, NCAA games, or shoot some pool. There's also an outdoor sand volleyball court and a league.
The Highlands Taproom
This place has a little bit of everything: live music, outdoor seating, pool and foosball tables, plenty of drink specials, and karaoke on some nights. The last Saturday of each month features great underground music spun by a DJ.
Baxter Station Bar and Grill
Come here for some good pub food, like sandwiches and wings, while enjoying one of the 24 beers on tap. If you're more into wine, then you'll enjoy Baxter's selection-there are 30!
The Back Door
The Back Door has a daily happy hour and an outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. There are several TVs, so this is a good place to watch the game, especially because there are plenty of game day specials here.
Air Devils Inn
This small bar is home to some cool live music, and there's an open mic night if you want to try your own hand at it.

Well known for its live entertainment, Headliners features two floors with a large bar and seating for about 600 people.
Granville Inn Bar and Grill
This bar is only blocks from campus, so it's a student favorite. It offers great pub food and a good, inexpensive beer list.

There are two other BBC locations. There's an outdoor seating area and six beers always on tap, in addition to its seasonal ales. Give the Raspberry Meade a try!

Fourth Street Live!
With concerts, restaurants, and stores, Fourth Street Live is popular both day and night. You can hang out there until 10 p.m. if you're under 21.
Student organizations such as SAB, SGA, and RSA plan events throughout the year, including the Annual Foam Party, University of Louisville Dance Marathon, and the International Fashion Show. These events are generally either free or inexpensive and draw a large portion of the student body.

While most of the stores close by the time nightlife starts happening, the bars and restaurants on Bardstown Road are usually full of students and Louisvillians. Those under 21 hang out at Qdoba, which is open 24 hours on the weekends, or any of the other venues that don't serve alcohol.
Check out the campus parties. Yes, most of the parties involve alcohol, but you don't have to drink to have a good time.
