Drug Safety

3 College Student

Drug Safety: I would say that my university has an average safety when in comes to the drug scene on/near campus. I would say the majority of students at UK participate in drinking but I do know that If some student's don't want to partake there is really no peer pressure to do so. I know that the camps administration enforces the alcohol/drug use policy strictly within campus but I also know that some student's can be sneaky and get around that and will keep the alcohol out of the line of sight of campus administration. However, even though there are sometimes drunken students on campus, I have never not felt safe while out late at night walking because our university has both an excellent police department, good precautionary measures in check, and our AFROTC detachment runs a safety escort service on the weeknights.

Drug Safety: There should be more control over it especially for the underage students.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: there is some but not a lot

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There is a lot of underage drinking that happens, but there are definitely options if you don't drink. I personally do not drink so I go to the parties at CSF and they are super fun without that pressure!

2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Try as they may, students are going to continue to do drugs and use alcohol in college. Students talk about it all the time.

Just as in high school, there will be people at Kentucky who are interested in drugs and not in school. They will, however, probably be in college for the better part of a decade. Drugs are available depending on the sort of people you socialize with. For the most part, there are so many activities that don't involve drugs, you may never notice them.

There is no peer pressure involved with the drug scene on campus, but you may want to keep a close eye on your drink at parties, as people have been known to wake up the next morning not knowing where they are. Use good judgment and watch who you hang out with.
