Campus Housing: Hale Kahawai was alright, but felt like I was so far away from the rest of the dorms and the food courts. You get what you pay for, there's no AC like most building on campus but our water heater was out for a week straight and we had about 5 roaches that crawled into our room through out the year. If you can I'd go for the apartments, at least you get a little more room and are close to food during the major storms

Campus Housing: I live in the freshman dorms and honestly, some of the rules are not informed regularly. Some floors smell and the bathrooms are almost frequently trashed my my floor mates/"guests" they have over. Paying just under $5,000 a semester for housing with these conditions was a real downer for me, since this past year has been spent out of pocket to dorm and attend UHM. I wish that the RA's would check floors more to see if anything illegal/contraband was going on since it was frequently loud and noisy during the allotted "quiet hours".

Campus Housing: The cost of living on campus is incredibly high, but due to the fact that the university is located in a very expensive city, this is not surprising. The freshman dorms have a really nice set up and include lots of space and storage to keep your room orderly. There is only air conditioning in one of the housing buildings (Frear). The dorms are for the most part a very anti-social environment so a person who wished to have a bit more active environment would want to consider the apartments. The only drinking fountains in the freshman dorms are in the lobby, which is a bit of an inconvenience, but it's easy to get used to after a while. Overall, it was a good experience living in the dorms my freshman year but if you don't have much financial aid I wouldn't suggest it.

Campus Housing: It is a little small in the dorms, and the buildings are pretty old, but the views are lovely. By the way, there is no A/C.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: When I am on campus, my experience is just fine. I just get concerned when we get all the emails about theft and sexual assault.
