Health & Safety: I wish it was lit more at night.

Campus Housing: Other than Frear, the buildings are outdated. If i were to pick between the two apartments I would recommend Wainani

Greek Life: We only have one major sorority and one fraternity. Not worth it

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Other than the Woman's Volleyball team the athletic program is a joke.

Overall Experience: Other than the life fitness center, the school is outdated

3 College Junior

Athletics: I'm not interested in sports. But I did hear University of Hawaii at Manoa athletics challenging other schools from the USA.

Overall Experience: I've visited the campus before for a field trip. In my view, it was hard to find the buildings. After looking at the ratings on "ratemyprofessor.com," I realized that some of the teachers weren't the best. I think that about half of the overall teachers actually care about their students and teaches well. I read reviews where teachers taught a very hard subject in an easy way. But I also did see students struggling to understand teachers both in and out of class. At the school there are a lot of places to eat, relax, and study.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I haven't had any totally horrible classes yet. There are professors who are a lot more enthusiastic about teaching than others, but even those who aren't as enthusiastic still make class worthwhile. Those who are enthusiastic are amazing professors and I would take their classes again.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Career center is always available for help and they have internship opportunities for later on in your college career. There are career fairs throughout the year as well to take advantage of.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel perfectly safe walking around campus alone during the day, but not at night. There are parts of campus that aren't well light during the night and because it's an open campus, it isn't the safest. It's best to walk in a group at night or call campus security escort which is available. I haven't had to call campus security escort yet, but it's nice to know it's there if I need it.

Campus Housing: Honestly, the housing isn't in the best conditions but its convenience is what brings me back. I highly recommend dorming even if you live on Oahu because it beats communting by a long shot. You make lots of friends and adds to your social experience at college especially since Manoa is more of a commuter campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Not a lot of sororities and fraternities around campus. You see them during "rush" but it isn't a huge deal where everyone is trying to apply. Those who join have a great experience but joining one won't make or break your college experience. I honestly don't hear much about their events other than their big events like undie runs.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Manoa's sports teams are either really good, or really bad. Football hasn't been winning in years which leads to a poor school spirit at sporting events. Homecoming isn't really a big issue, but when there's a sport that's winning like basketball or volleyball, it gets popular.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Everyone I've met so far has been very nice and easy to talk to. I think it's definitely more enjoyable once you are accepted into your program of study and are working with students who are in the same major and have similar interests as you. Dorming makes everything a lot more convenient and puts you in a short bus ride away from anything. Lots of things to do if you make an effort to find something that interests you, easily accessible on-campus jobs as well.

Overall Experience: I love all the courses offered in my program! The professors are amazing and class sizes are often small, which is the atmosphere I learn best in. The class styles are very engaging and include service learning, which I appreciate.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I fortunately found the organization that I will be working for once I graduate in high school and am currently working for them.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: We don't need more security, we need better education of students on sexual assault, respect, and consent. We have great services for survivors like Pau Violence at the Women's Center but we need more preventative action. Police and heightened security may create the facade of safety but they do not do much because majority of sexual assault perpetrators are not strangers. Sexual assault is most often committed by people the survivor knows, so we need more interactive, compulsory, engaging educational programs that involve students - especially men - throughout their time at the university, and keep the dialogue open around issues of gender violence.

Campus Housing: It is common knowledge that the dorms are dirty, old, and not maintenance. The RAs are overworked and underpaid, and students are not respected as tenants. The price for housing is way to expensive, especially for what is provided for such a high price. I loved living on campus for two years because of the community and convenience but students deserve better and a lot needs to be changed.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I do not support Greek life either so although they only have a small presence at our school, I do not approve of it.

3 College Senior

Athletics: I don't think resources should be focused on sports so the fact that our athletics programs are fully funded while many important departments are not is not okay.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love the Ethnic Studies and Women's Studies programs. They provide space for students like me - politically radical women of color - to deepen their knowledge of systems of power in order to equip us to dismantle them. I would choose it again because I love my programs.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Professors are good, class sizes are good, and the amount of classes are reasonable considering that most teachers teach more than 1 course per semester.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Campus careers are good, they provide part time jobs to many students and it helps them pay for college.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Campus security is good, they try to make the campus safe for all student and faculty.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Sometimes some of the appliances would be broken, the bathroom would sometimes not work, and some of the front desk people were rude.
