Administration: they do what then can

3 College Freshman

Administration: Some policies are hard to get along with but the officers are not so bad. The RA's are good as well.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: As far as I'm concerned, the campus administration is great. It's really easy to have guests over and they're pretty lenient about drinking as long as you're not causing trouble or being really noisy. The only thing they're really strict about is parking.

There are many rules and regulations that students living in the dorms must follow. There is also a long list of things prohibited from the dorm rooms, such as bed risers, extension cords, holiday lights, incense, lava lamps, and weights, among other more obvious items like candles, flammable liquids, and weapons. If any of these things are found in your room, they will be confiscated, and you will be written up. Being written up has heavy consequences because it will also affect your housing status for the following year, so by not obeying the rules, you may lose the opportunity to live on campus. Many punishable offenses are also ones that are illegal, such as smoking marijuana and underage drinking, and getting caught will result in a write-up and attendance at student conduct meetings.

There is a lot of pressure on resident assistants (RAs) because they usually witness violations firsthand and are being counted on to deal with them accordingly, so to do their job honestly and correctly, they sometimes even have to write up their friends. Resident assistants also do random health and safety inspections of dorm rooms to make sure that all residents are obeying the rules and don’t have any prohibited items. In general, the University is very strict about its policies and rules and will deal with them however they see fit, so one piece of advice is to stay out of trouble!
