Drug Safety: There isn't that big of a drug scene in Athens. Plenty of people get healthy and make good choices.

Majors: Lamar Dodd has fantastic facilities and resources. Furthermore, the staff genuinely care about the students.

Majors: The teachers are incredibly helpful in letting you know what you need to do.

Weather: Rainy weather/ bad weather in general means more people trying to cram onto an overpacked bus. This can make you late for class if you have to wait for another one.

Party Scene: I've never been big on partying but even I can't resist a night out.

Local Area: I never wanna leave college.

Transportation: First off, the buses in general are fantastic. You don't have to wait too long for one that will take you where you need to go. However, with certain routes (aka Orbit), the buses are so full that you are basically going to 3rd base with 5 people at once. And the odd part is, everyone is used to it. But still. I wish there was a better situation for car accessibility. You have to have a parking permit and if you don't you get a huge ticket. Plus, the parking permits are expensive, not to mention that there aren't that many if you see the ratio of students to parking spots. I'm a huge fan of saving the environment with public transportation but some of us have to rush to a job immediately after class. So having to take a bus to get to your car is a bit outrageous.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
